JUNIORS – applications for the Alexander Hamilton Citizenship Achievement Award are available at www.hamiltonfriends.org.  This is a $500 cash award that also awards paid leadership training, and college prep assistance.  It is for juniors who are college bound, have a strong record of community services, show strong commitment to academic studies, are a self-starter, show passion and commitment to their interests, and show financial and/or personal need.  Applications are due by April 16.  Information is posted on the school website.

There will be a Student Council Spirit Trip Committee meeting Tuesday during lunch in room 11.

 

There will be a Student Council Senior Oscar Night committee meeting on Wednesday during lunch in

room 11.

 

The Go To Team will meeting Wednesday during 2nd hour in the auditorium.  Team members - you are to check in with your 2nd hour teacher and then go directory to the auditorium.

 

Registration forms for the Reed City 3 on 3 tournament are in the athletic wall pocket.

 

Matchmaker forms will be available for $2.00 each.  A table will be set up during lunch in the lobby.  Check out your matches and support the student council.  Don’t forget that the student council sponsors many of our yearly events.

4:15 p.m. and the JV game will start at 6:00 p.m.  The bus for all three teams will leave at 2:30 p.m. with early dismissal at 2:15 p.m.

AFTERNOON CTC STUDENTS - you are to go directly to the pep assembly when the bus arrives back at school this afternoon.

Any student interested in participating in a half-court shoot-out at today's pep assembly must sign up in the office. There will be a prize for the winner!

The movie To Save a Life is now showing at the Cadillac 5 Theater.  This movie was brought to our area by a group from Pine River Schools and many others in the community.  It is highly recommended for all high school students.  Call the theater for movie times and take a group to see it!

 

A skiing/snowboarding group is forming at Caberfae Peaks.  The group will meet every Thursday from

5-9:00 p.m. – cost is $8.00.  Board rentals are $8.00, skis $2.00, and helmets $3.00.  Contact Kathy Kaczor at 231-942-1889 if you plan to attend or for more information.

Next week is Chill Out Week with dress up days throughout the week – look for posters.  The week ends with Mock Rock on Saturday evening followed by a dance.  Cost will be $3.00 per person for Mock Rock and $3.00 per person for the dance.  Entry forms for Mock Rock are due to Mrs. Richardson by the end of the day tomorrow!

 

There are 37 seniors signed up for the senior trip.  If your dues are paid and you have not officially signed up, stop at Mrs. Colecchio’s office.  You must be signed up by Friday, January 29.

 

There will be a full student council meeting today during lunch in room 11.

A skiing/snowboarding group is forming at Caberfae Peaks.  The group will meet every Thursday from

5-9:00 p.m. – cost is $8.00.  Board rentals are $8.00, skis $2.00, and helmets $3.00.  Contact Kathy Kaczor at 231-942-1889 if you plan to attend or for more information.

 

A financial aid seminar will be held at the Missaukee District Library on Saturday, January 30 from

10-11:00 a.m.  No registration needed.  The presenter is Kevin Singer from Hope College.

JUNIOR girls – this Thursday CTC is sponsoring a Careers for Women Conference in Cadillac.  The program highlights non-traditional careers for women.  Last year the student who went said it was great.  Lunch is provided and it will be school excused.  See Mrs. Richardson by the end of the day to sign up.

 

 

 

ATHLETICS

 

The JV and varsity girls basketball teams will play Manton – Home – 6:00 p.m.

 

The 9th grade boys basketball team plays at Farwell – 5:00 p.m. – bus departs at 3:15 – dismiss at 3:00 p.m.

 

The JV and varsity boys basketball teams will play at Harrison – 6:00 p.m. – bus departs at 4:15 p.m.
