STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

School pictures are today!  Students will be dismissed in small groups throughout the morning.  Afternoon CTC students make sure you have your picture taken before you get on the bus.

 

Freshmen - we have changed the location of our float building meetings to the bus garage. There are information sheets in Mrs. Atkins’ room listing the dates, times, and a map that will help you locate the bus garage.  Please take a look at the list of supplies needed for the float on the freshman bulletin board in the high school hallway and bring any of those items that you can.  Check with your freshman class officers if you have any questions.

 

Spirit week starts Monday, with the first day being Pajama day.  Dress appropriately.

 

Student council - meet in Mrs. VanderBrook's room today at lunch. The student council is in need of chaperones for the dance and bonfire.  See Mrs. VanderBrook if your parent is willing to chaperone.

 

Thank you to all the students who showed interest in being the school mascot.  The school mascot was chosen by the student council and will be notified soon.  There will be upcoming opportunities for others to look forward to being the school mascot.

 

Taelee Winkleman is selling candy bars for $1 and proceeds will go towards funding Camp Rotary.  See Taelee before or after school, or during lunch if you would like to purchase one!

 

Seniors – please look at the senior board for a list of supplies needed to build our float.

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

 

Juniors and seniors - Cadillac High School will be holding their annual College Night on Wednesday, October 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the auxiliary gym.  There will be many college representatives available to hand out information and answer questions.

 

The CTC Agriscience and Natural Resources class will be offering an evening curriculum for students in grades 7–10 at CTC.  It will be held on Thursday evenings from 6–8 p.m.  The class will start on Thursday, October 23 and run through Thursday, December 18.  Topics covered will include student leadership in Future Farmers of America, current trends in agriculture, farm safety, and natural resources.  Transportation will be the student’s responsibility.  The class is limited to the first 20 students.  If you are interested, see Mrs. Richardson ASAP.

 

All previous YAC members - the first meeting for the school year will be Tuesday morning,

September 23 at 7:30 a.m. in the foods room.  There are new advisors this year and Mrs. Richardson will help get things going.  If you cannot make it, please see Mrs. Richardson.

Math tutoring is scheduled today in Mrs. Peterson’s room after school.

ALL STUDENTS – there is a dress code for the high school and you are expected to follow it. 

Any student wearing inappropriate clothing will be asked to change, or will be sent home. See

page 12 of the student handbook.

NHS STUDENTS – workers are needed Friday for the Lake City All Alumni Reunion at Timber Wolf Camp.  You will need to be there around 10:00 a.m. to serve and clean up, and will return to the school in the afternoon.  It is always a good time, you get a great meal, and it is really appreciated.

See Mrs. Richardson ASAP to sign up.  This gives you a good start to your service hours for the year!

Lake City Area Schools will be hosting a mini-relay tomorrow afternoon at our track for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.  Our goal is to get every student to make a donation, no matter how small.  Donations of $1 will be able to post a “relay foot” in the lobby with their name on it.  Anyone who donates, on their own, $10 or more will be able to go walk at the relay on Wednesday afternoon.  Funds will be collected each morning in first hour classes.  The class who raises the most will get a doughnuts and juice!  Get out your change, collect donations, and join to help with a cause that has touched most of our lives!

Lake City Area Schools will be hosting a mini-relay this Wednesday afternoon at our track for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.  Our goal is to get every student to make a donation, no matter how small.  Donations of $1 will be able to post a “relay foot” in the lobby with their name on it.  Anyone who donates, on their own, $10 or more will be able to go walk at the relay on Wednesday afternoon.  Funds will be collected each morning in first hour classes.  The class who raises the most will get a doughnuts and juice!  Get out your change, collect donations, and join to help with a cause that has touched most of our lives!

There is a meeting today at 12:10 in the auditorium for all girls interested in playing basketball next year. It is very important that you attend.
