Congratulations to all who competed in the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association District 1 Solo and Ensemble Festival on Saturday. The quintet consisting of Lauren Trolz, Zak L'Italian, Eric Rhodes, Drew Marion, and Matt Grieb gave a medal winning performance. Matt Grieb not only was a medalist but received an invitation for State Solo and Ensemble competition. Great job all and good luck at State competition Matt!

 

Any student interested in being on the Lake City Area Schools Health and Wellness Committee please see Mrs. Peterson or Mr. Vasieck.

 

Tomorrow the Chill-out theme will be camo and hunting day.

 

Students will now receive a two minute warning before having to leave the cafeteria for breakfast.  The only students that should be in the cafeteria in the morning are students eating breakfast.

 

There is an 8^th grade student looking for a math tutor.  If you are interested, see Ms. Bernier ASAP.

 

NHSers - there is a service hour opportunity for typing handwritten documents.  See Ms. Bernier for more information as soon as possible.

Mobile Dentist will be here Monday, March 21 and Tuesday, March 22.  If you wish to have your teeth cleaned please pick up a Mobile Dentist form from the wall pocket outside of the office.  When completed return to the office by Friday, February 11.  Even if you filled out a form from the fall cleaning you need to complete another form to see the Mobile Dentist this spring.

Chill-out week begins Monday! The spirit days are as follows:

 

Monday – PJ Day

Tuesday – Camo/Hunting Day

Wednesday – Mis-match Day

Thursday – Class Color Day ~ Freshmen wear yellow, Sophomores green, Juniors pink, Seniors orange,

and teachers wear blue.

Friday is Red-Pride Friday. Everyone wear Red, Black and White.

 

Congratulations to the senior class on winning this year's spirit trip. Due to their overwhelming performance during homecoming week and in the canned-food drive it is mathematically impossible for them to lose. However, any senior still hoping to go on the spirit trip must check in with Mr. Thom at some point each day next week to be counted.

 

There is an 8^th grade student looking for a math tutor.  If you are interested, see Ms. Bernier ASAP.

Parents and Students – "The Missaukee County Road Commission requests your cooperation through the winter months while snowplowing is taking place.  We ask that you be aware of the fact that the plows are on the roads many mornings at the same times that the buses are picking up students.  We urge you to make sure that your children wait a safe distance from the plowed portion of the roadway until the bus actually arrives at their stop.  It is important that we work together to make certain of their safety."  If you have any questions regarding the above or any other snow removal problems, feel free to call:  Kelly Bekken, Manager of Missaukee County Road Commission at 839-4361.

Mock Rock is coming! This year it will be on Saturday, February 5, so get your act together and start getting your act together. Application forms will be available in the office beginning Wednesday, and are due to Mrs. Vanderbrook or Mr. Thom by Thursday, January 27.  

 

Juniors and Seniors – counselor applications for Camp Rotary are in the office.  You may pick them up during lunch or before or after school.  Applications must be returned to the office by January 28.

 

Parents and Students – "The Missaukee County Road Commission requests your cooperation through the winter months while snowplowing is taking place.  We ask that you be aware of the fact that the plows are on the roads many mornings at the same times that the buses are picking up students.  We urge you to make sure that your children wait a safe distance from the plowed portion of the roadway until the bus actually arrives at their stop.  It is important that we work together to make certain of their safety."  If you have any questions regarding the above or any other snow removal problems, feel free to call:  Kelly Bekken, Manager of Missaukee County Road Commission at 839-4361.

9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Fox Hill Event Center in Cadillac.  There will be speakers from different career areas and lunch will be provided.  If you are interested in attending, sign up on the sheet in the office.

Lake City Christian Reformed Church will host a blood drive on Friday, January 21 from noon until 5:45 p.m.

 

Seniors – there will be a short meeting for all seniors planning on attending the senior trip today at 3:00 p.m. in Ms. Bernier's room.  If you plan on going on the senior trip you MUST have your dues paid in full by this Friday, January 14.  See Ms. Bernier or Mrs. Phillips if you have any questions.

Seniors – you are now able to start completing the FAFSA online.  Get on and get your PIN and start filling it out.  You can save all the information and once taxes are done, you can go back in and complete it.  Remember – the deadline is March 1^st.
