NHSers - we will have our first meeting of the year tomorrow morning at 7:40 a.m. in

Ms. Bernier’s room. 

 

Seniors – if you plan to go on your senior trip and would like to help decide where we will go, you need to have your dues paid up at least through junior year.  There will be a meeting in

Mrs. Peterson’s room at lunch Thursday to discuss, and hopefully decide, on our destination. 

If you are not sure if your dues are paid, see Mrs. Peterson.

Freshman may purchase middle school yearbooks in the office for $13.00.

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

 

Juniors and Seniors – Several college representatives will be here starting the last week in September through mid-October.  Please listen to the announcements and check the sheets in the office to sign up and visit with them!

 

Lake City Schools will be participating in the Coats for Kids drive this year.  If you would like to donate a gently used coat please drop it off in the counselor’s office.  The drive will end September 30.  If you are in need of a coat, coats will be given out free at the Curry House, located between Cadillac and Lake City, on October 1 at 2:00 p.m.

On June 11 the Missaukee Golf Course will be hosting the ZLP 4 Scholarship Fund Golf Outing.   This will be a scramble with teams of 4.  The cost is $200 per team/$50 per person.  Golf, food, prizes and a shirt will be included in the price.  If you are interested, see Mrs. Peterson for a registration form.  Registrations are due today!  All money that is made will fund a scholarship in memory of Zach.

 

Students if you would like any of the items from the bulletin board across from the library, you may remove them today.

Class meetings will take place during 5th hour for elections today.  All students running for an office will give a short speech as to why students should vote for them. 

 

STUDENTS – you will not be able to exempt from a final exam unless ALL FINES ARE PAID.  This includes library, lunch, damaged textbooks, etc.  Make sure you talk to Mrs. Baron, Mr. Homan, and your teachers about this.

Starting today the weight room will be closed after school.

There is an opportunity to make up credits for classes that you haven't passed, in the core subject areas, during summer school.  It will be every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for three weeks starting June 7, and 3 hours per subject.  There is no cost!  If you are in need of making up core classes, see Mrs. Richardson ASAP to sign up.

There will be a meeting right after school today for fall cheer.  The meeting will take place at the middle school with Mrs. Vokes. 

 

All track athletes meet in the elementary library at noon today for a quick meeting to turn in your track uniforms.

Staircase Youth Services has started a youth drop-in center.  It is open every Monday from 3-7p.m. behind the Cadillac First Church of the Nazarene in the ministry center (large grey building) on M-55 just going in to Cadillac.  It is for anyone ages 16-21 who is at risk or homeless.  It is free!  There is a free meal, lots of activities, games, life skill groups, and friends.  See Mrs. Richardson for more info.

 

The Huron-Manistee National Forest Service Youth Conservation Corps job applications are due to the Cadillac office today!

STUDENTS – many of you have unpaid lunch charges.  You must pay your charges by June 3.     

 

Exam exemption applications are available outside the office and due back tomorrow.  If you qualify for an exam exemption due to your ACT or PLAN test score, you do not need to fill out an  application but do need to stop in the office to request the exam exemption.  This is to be done before school or during lunch time.

 

STUDENTS - the library will be closing tomorrow. Please make sure you have all library books turned in and fines paid to the library by tomorrow.  Many of you have unpaid library fines and these must be paid before receiving final grades.
