Don’t forget the Lake City Athletic Boosters Annual Pig Roast at the Athletic Complex from 5-7:00 tonight before the Trojans take on the Beal City Aggies! 

   

School pictures are scheduled for Thursday, September 24.

 

There will be a Jostens meeting for sophomores 2nd hour in the auditorium Tuesday, September 22 regarding class rings. 

 

Science tutoring is scheduled after school today in Mrs. Thom’s room.

 

Any female student wanting to play powder puff football please come to Mr. Bongard’s room at lunch today for an informational meeting.

 

After school dance classes are available in the auditorium on Tuesdays.  There is Adult Intermediate Tap at 4:00 p.m. and Jazz/Hip Hop at 4:30 p.m.  All classes are half hour. There is a $12 registration fee for the school year and $8 a class. Discounts are offered for monthly payments and multi-family.

A concert will be held in May featuring all the dancers.  If interested, contact Mary at 824-6592 or sign up on the day of the class. If you are not sure, stop in and watch the class.

Lake City will be hosting the American Cancer Society Relay for Life event this year at our athletic complex on Saturday, July 25, from noon to midnight.  We hope to make it a huge event here after moving it from McBain.  They are in need of student volunteers to help out with things throughout the event.  There will be games, face painting, clean-up, organization, etc.  This is a great opportunity to do some community volunteering and be part of an event that raises money to help with cancer related issues.  If you are interested in helping in any way for this event, sign up in Mrs. Richardson’s office and the event coordinators will contact you.

 

Baker College segment 1 driver training starts Monday, June 15.  Enrollment forms are available in the wall pocket outside the high school office.  If you have any questions contact Baker College or

Mr. Yeomans.

If you are planning to attend summer school, you need to make sure you have a schedule.  All schedules were mailed home on the permission form and nothing else will be sent.  It is up to you to make sure you know when you need to be here.  If you need a copy of a schedule, pick one up in Mrs. Richardson’s office. Football Summer Camp Those students interested in attending Summer Football Camp will need to submit forms to the office today. If you forgot them bring them tomorrow! If you didn't receive a form you can pick one up in the office.


Girls Summer Sport Skills Camps Registrations are available for girls basketball and volleyball camps in June. The registrations are copied on "red" paper and should be easy to find on the wall rack located across the hall from the office. Summer Skills Camps for volleyball and basketball will be held on June 16, 17, & 18 (T-Th). All Cost for each camp is $20 and payment is due when turning in your form to the office no later than June 8 (in order to get a t-shirt).


Reminder to students that have outstanding charges whether for lunch, for a band reeds or other supplies, or library fines, please pay those charges asap.


6th & 7th Grade Girls-Volleyball for 2015-2016 There are sign-up sheets in the office for those that are interested in girls 7th & 8th grade volleyball for next year.


Last MS Dance There will be a dance this Friday from 2:00 to 4:00. There is no cost. If you can stay until 4:00, please have your ride here to pick you up. Otherwise, leave at 3:05 when the school day ends. Pizza and pop will still be sold.


Summer Basketball Camp Reminder to all boys basketball campers: Camp for 6th and 7th graders begins next week June 8th at the H.S. gym 3:30-5:30pm. If you have not yet turned in your camp form and payment you can still do that this week and on the first day of camp. Please get those in ASAP! 8th graders you may also still turn in your forms up until the first day of Night Camp June 15th at 5:30 pm. If you have any questions see Mr. Besko.

Class meetings will take place during AI today. Students will hear speeches by those running opposed for student council. Please take work with you in case your class finishes early. After attendance is taken students will be dismissed to the following areas: juniors to the library, sophomores to the auditorium, and freshmen to the gym.  Voting will take place tomorrow during 5th hour.  If there is enough class time left after all grades are done, students will be dismissed back to AI.

MAT Squared is a new Michigan initiative that entails students earning a free Associate’s Degree in Mechatronics, getting paid to attend classes at Baker College, receiving paid on-the-job training with a local employer while in school, and working in a high tech job after college.  This is the equivalent of a full-ride scholarship and a guaranteed job!  An informational session will held tomorrow from

10–11:30 a.m. at Northwest Michigan Works! in Cadillac.
