GENERAL

1.  Student Body – Please check the Junior Board between Mr. Gagnon’s room and Mr. Thom’s room to make sure you have a ticket for Prom.  Mr. Bongard has posted a list of all students who have turned in the appropriate sheet from Timberwolf Lake and gotten a Prom ticket.  Please check to make sure your date has a ticket also.  Go to Mr. Bongard if you think he has made a mistake.  Thank you.

2.  ALL STUDENTS ATTENDING PROM/AFTER PROM WILL HAVE A MANDATORY MEETING IN THE GYM TODAY AT 3:05 PM.  FELLOW EDUCATORS, I WILL BE PASSING MY MOST UP TO DATE LIST TO YOU AT LUNCH TODAY SO YOU KNOW WHO SHOULD BE GOING TO THE MEETING. 

3.  NHS Students – More spots are available to volunteer at the forensic regional tournament Saturday.  Time keepers are needed for some of the rounds.  See Ms. Bernier as soon as possible if you can help out.

4.  For those students wanting to take Driver’s Education, look in the Information Center wall pockets in front of the office.  The following driving schools are offering classes:  Baker College, Courtesy Driving School, Inc., and North Star Driving School.

5.  If you lost or left something at Senior Oscar Night please check in the office.  The item may be there.

6.  If you would like a copy of Senior Oscar Night just bring in a blank videotape to Miss Main and she will give you a copy.

2.  10th and 11th graders – There is an opportunity for 20 students to go on Manufacturing Tours of some of the larger manufacturers in Cadillac.  You will get to see all aspects of these companies such as line work, clerical, sales, engineering, laboratory, and management.  This is a great opportunity to see what is available for great careers in our area.  If you are interested in going, sign up on the sheet on the table in Mrs. Richardson’s office.  The tours will be on Tuesday, May 13th, all day.  Lunch will be provided.  Deadline to sign up is May 1st.  Only 20 slots are available on a first come basis.

3.  Juniors – Hope College is hosting a Pre-Professional Day, Wednesday, 5/21.  Deadline is 5/14.

4.  There will be a Young Writer’s Workshop offered at the Wexford-Missaukee ISD, June 9th – 13th, form 9am -1pm each day.  There is a $20 fee for the week.  The week will end with a Celebration and Sharing time on Friday from 11am – 1pm to invite parents and teacher to.  Space is very limited.  If you are interested in this workshop, see Mrs. Richardson right away!

5.  CTC will sponsor local students by paying their way to summer academic camps.  If you have a camp you are interested in attending, see Mrs. Richardson for an application for sponsorship.

6.  Ferris State University is offering several Summer Academic Camps.  CTC will pay your way to attend.  If you are interested, see Mrs. Richardson.

1.  Attention Juniors & Seniors – The junior class will be selling Prom tickets until tomorrow, Friday, 4/18.  If for some reason you are having trouble saving the money required to go, please come down and talk to Mr. Bongard as soon as possible.  There may be some creative ways to solve this dilemma.  You have to see him to take care of the issue though.  Thank you – Mr. Bongard.

GENERAL

1.  Attention Juniors & Seniors – The junior class will be selling Prom tickets until this Friday, 4/18.  If for some reason you are having trouble saving the money required to go, please come down and talk to Mr. Bongard as soon as possible.  There may be some creative ways to solve this dilemma.  You have to see him to take care of the issue though.  Thank you – Mr. Bongard.

2.  Students – The sheet you received when you purchased your Prom ticket is not a ticket to Prom.  You need to have that sheet filled out and turned in to Mr. Bongard in order to receive a Prom ticket.  The deadline for this sheet is Friday at 3:30 pm.  There will be absolutely no exceptions allowed to attend Prom.  NONE.  Get the sheet filled out and turned in by Friday.  There will be a list on the junior board outside Miss Morse's classroom by Wednesday of the students whose sheet I have in the folder.  Please check to make sure your name is on that list.  Mr. Bongard

3.  Attention all students – Pull out last year’s prom dresses and pick up your tux early for prom and get dressed up for an evening out.  The Lake City Student Council will be presenting the 3rd Annual Senior Oscar Night.  The evening will include announcements of winners in prestigious categories such as Biggest Gossip and Worst Car among others.  There will also be singing performances from students of all grades.  Senior Oscar Night is tonight,  Wednesday, April 16 at 7:00pm.  The cost is $2.00.

NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Students – Beginning today, 4/14, Houghton Street will be closed off at the M-55 corner because of the road construction.  Please plan to take an alternate route during those few days.  Also, remember that you may not walk toward M-55 before/after school or during lunch.  Juniors and Seniors who choose to leave the building at lunch may only travel south toward the downtown area.
