Congratulations to the Student of the Week - Jimmy Young.

 

There is a dance tonight after the girls basketball game until 11:00 p.m.  Cost is $2. 

 

Exam exemption forms are due in the office by the end of the day.

 

Missaukee Mountain will be open Saturday and Sunday for skiing and snowboarding.

 

This Saturday, January 16, and next Saturday, January 23, come help the Lake City Drama Class solve the mystery in "Ax of Murder" an audience interactive murder mystery!  Tickets are $3 for students, $5 for adults, and are available at the door.  Play starts at 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Thom’s science tutoring for today has been rescheduled for Monday after school.

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER                                                                                                                

 

The master schedule for 2nd semester is posted near the office.  If you are considering making changes, check the master to see if your changes are possible.  Many classes are full and options for changing are limited.  If you want to make a change, fill out the yellow form that is in the office and turn it in to Mrs. Richardson.  Schedules will be given out next week and change requests will be taken until the end of the day Tuesday, January 26.

 

ATHLETICS

 

Boys Varsity Wrestling at Benzie, dismissal at 2:15, depart at 2:30, match starts at 4:30 p.m.

 

Girls JV/Varsity Basketball vs McBain, home, game starts at 6:00 p.m.

 

Girls interested in softball - there is a meeting in Mrs. Peterson’s room after school today!

 

Caberfae Red Cards are available again this year.  Red Cards are $1 and can be purchased in the high school office.

 

Winter season passes are available in the athletic office or at any home game. $50 per family, $10 per student

Congratulations to the Student of the Week - Jimmy Young.

 

There will be a dance this Friday, January 15, after the girls basketball game until 11:00 p.m. 

The dance is being sponsored by the Go To team and cost is $2.  The dance is for Lake City students only.  Come boogie with the best after beating McBain! 

 

Exam exemption forms are available in the office and due at the end of the day this Friday.

 

Freshmen - we are doing the 50/50 raffle at tomorrow’s boys basketball game against Manton.  If you can sell tickets, please see Mrs. Peterson or Mrs. Atkins ASAP. We need sellers there at 5:30. 

Also, many still need to pay their $5 dues for this year. Dues must be paid to go on your senior trip.

 

Freshmen class officers will meet today in Mrs. Peterson’s room at lunch.  Please grab your lunch and go to her room.

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER                                                                                                               

 

Online course for 2nd semester are due to Mrs. Richardson today by the end of the day.

 

9th and 10th grade students – the CTC Agriscience and Natural Resources program is offering evening classes for students interested in learning about all aspects of agriculture and developing leadership skills.  You will become a member of the FFA and complete a hands-on agricultural experience.  Classes run every Tuesday from Tuesday, March 15 to May 17, from 6-8 p.m.  If you are interested, see Mrs. Richardson for a registration form.

 

10th and 11th grade girls – the annual Careers for Women Conference, put on by CTC, will be held on Tuesday, February 9 at the Fox Hill Event Center.  We will ride the CTC bus over and back and lunch will be provided.  If you are interested in attending, please sign up by Wednesday, February 3 in the office.  There is a limit of 20 who can attend.  See Mrs. Richardson if you have any questions.  There will be some great speakers!

 

Seniors - remember that you should be working on your scholarship applications. Scholarships and FAFSA may be found on the website.  Many scholarship apps are due by February 1st and the FAFSA is due by March 1st.

Biology tutoring is cancelled for today.

 

There will be a dance this Friday, January 15, after the girls basketball game until 11:00 p.m. 

The dance is being sponsored by the Go To team and cost is $2.  The dance is for Lake City students only.  Come boogie with the best after beating McBain! 

 

Students – remember to use the sidewalks, rather than walking on the road, when coming in to school.  Please be careful in the mornings when cars and buses are dropping students off. 

 

Exam exemption forms will be available in the office tomorrow.

If you are interested in taking an online course for 2nd semester, see Mrs. Richardson for information and a request form.  You must list a course you are interested in.  Forms will be due to Mrs. Richardson no later than Wednesday, January 13, at the end of the day.
