Seniors - your Little Caesar orders are due today.  Please remember to turn the money in with the order form.

 

A pep assembly has been scheduled for today.  Students will be dismissed at 2:45 p.m. to go to the gym.

 

There are several items in the office lost and found, including shoes, jewelry and purses.  If you have recently lost an item, please come to the office, as they will only be held for a short time.

 

Mock Rock will be Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Featured artists scheduled to perform include "7 Car Pile-Up featuring Q", "The Ice Cream Frizzles", and "Fish".  All students wishing to take a guest to the dance after Mock Rock need to sign up their guest in the office by the end of lunch today.

 

All Mock Rock participants need to be at the school Saturday no later than 5:30 p.m. for sound check and stage set-up.

 

North Star driving school will be holding segment two classes starting February 8 starting at 3:45 p.m.

for $30.00 and segment one classes starting February 9 at 3:45 for $250.00.  Registration forms are in

front of the office.  Call North Star with any questions.

 

Reed City 3 on 3 basketball tournament registration forms are available outside the office.

The senior class is raffling off a Lake City Trojan head.  Decorate your bedroom, game room, or class float!  Tickets are 50 cents or 3 for a dollar.  They will be sold at lunch.  Drawing will be done at Friday's assembly. 

 

Any student interested in being on the Lake City Area Schools Health and Wellness Committee and/or the district Reproductive Health Committee please see Mrs. Peterson or Mr. Vasieck.

 

Tomorrow the Chill-out theme will be red, black and white.

 

This is your last chance to buy a 2011 yearbook!  The cost is $35, payable to Lake City High School. 

The yearbook will be delivered before the end of the year.  You must order now, as you will not be able to purchase one later.  The deadline is February 28.  You can also purchase the book on-line at www.yearbookforever.com.   If you would like to make payments or have questions, see Mrs. Atkins.

 

Juniors - we have the opportunity to do the 50/50 raffle at the home basketball games Friday, February 11 and Thursday, February 24.  Please see Mrs. Peterson or Mrs. Atkins if you would be willing to help.   

 

Mobile Dentist will be here Monday, March 21 and Tuesday, March 22.  If you wish to have your teeth cleaned please pick up a Mobile Dentist form from the wall pocket outside of the office.  When completed return to the office by Friday, February 11.  Even if you filled out a form from the fall you need to complete another form.

 

COUNSELOR'S CORNER

 

There will be Careers for Women seminar on Tuesday, February 8, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Fox Hill Event Center in Cadillac.  There will be speakers from different career areas and lunch will be provided.  This is open to any sophomore or junior girl.  If you are interested in attending, sign up on the sheet in the office.

Cross Country members need to meet in Mr. Webb's room at the last ten minutes of lunch today to schedule basketball games for February.

 

Congratulations to the Student of the Week - Shaina Bosma.

 

Math tutoring will be with Mrs. Peterson this Thursday from 3:30-4:00.

Congratulations to all who competed in the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association District 1 Solo and Ensemble Festival on Saturday. The quintet consisting of Lauren Trolz, Zak L'Italian, Eric Rhodes, Drew Marion, and Matt Grieb gave a medal winning performance. Matt Grieb not only was a medalist but received an invitation for State Solo and Ensemble competition. Great job all and good luck at State competition Matt!

Tomorrow the Chill-out theme will be camo and hunting day.

 

Students will now receive a two minute warning before having to leave the cafeteria for breakfast.  The only students that should be in the cafeteria in the morning are students eating breakfast.

 

There is an 8th grade student looking for a math tutor.  If you are interested, see Ms. Bernier ASAP.

 

NHSers - there is a service hour opportunity for typing handwritten documents.  See Ms. Bernier for more information as soon as possible.

Money and orders are due on February 4.  See Ms. Bernier or Mrs. Phillips to pick up an order form.
