Congratulations to the Student of the Week – McKenzie McCord.

 

SENIORS – please pick up your Yankee Candle order in the shop today at 3:20

 

SENIORS – your cap and gown paks will be distributed Wednesday, May 14 during lunch.  Pick up location will be the room next to the trophy case in the lobby.  If you have questions see Ms. Gilson.

 

Congratulations to the forensics team for coming in 6th overall at the State tournament this past weekend and bringing home another silver plate!  Individually Tyler Bergey and Collin Hinkston came in 4th in duo for their performance of “Of Mice and Men”.

Several Advanced Art students will be show-casing work at Brinks on Mitchell Street tonight from 4:00-8:00 p.m. alongside many professional artists.  Please come and support the arts!

Students doing Dual Enrollment, Independent Study, and Teacher Academy next year MUST have their forms in to Mrs. Richardson today.  If your paperwork is not in, you will not be able to take those and will be put in a class.

Seniors – the Yankee Candle order is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.  Please make arrangements to deliver your orders.  If you cannot pick up your order tomorrow, please let Mr. Bongard know.

 

Senior exam exemption applications are available in the wall pocket outside the office.  Seniors must have their exemption forms turned in to the office by 3:30 p.m. tomorrow.

 

Math tutoring is scheduled today in Mr. Thom’s room.

 

JUNIOR OFFICERS – you have a meeting with the Jostens rep tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. in the auditorium.  It is important that you not be late.  See Ms. Gilson if you have questions.

Senior exam exemption applications are available in the wall pocket outside the office.  Seniors must have their exemption forms turned in to the office by 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 9.

 

NHS students who signed up to set up the science fair - meet in the cafeteria at 1:15 today.  Remember to touch base with your teachers in advance.   Those who signed up to help clean

should be in the cafeteria about 6:30 p.m.

 

With the school year almost over students will no longer be able to charge lunch in the cafeteria.  You may deposit money in your account or pay as you go.  Any student who has a charge will need to pay the amount owed before school ends. 

 

Math tutoring is scheduled for Thursday, May 8 in Mr. Thom’s room.

 

JUNIOR OFFICERS – you have a meeting with the Jostens rep on Friday, May 9 at 8:00 a.m. in the auditorium.  It is important that you not be late.  See Ms. Gilson if you have questions.

 

There is a student council meeting today in Mrs. VanderBrook’s room at 12:15.

The Cadillac High School will be holding a parent information night at 7:00 p.m. tonight in the high school performance gym.  Liaison officer Jason Straight, Wexford County deputy Jason Nehmer, and Wexford County Prosecuting Attorney Tony Badovinac will lead an assembly highlighting the legal and personal consequences of sexting

Courtesy Driving School will offer segments one and two driver education classes at Lake City High School during July.  Segment one class runs July 7-24.  You must be 14 years and 8 months of age the first day of class to be eligible.  Total cost is $254.  Segment  two runs July 21, 22, and 24.  You must have your level one license for 90 days and have thirty driving hours completed for segment two.  Total cost is $30.  To register, please call 800-256-9559 or you may pick up a brochure from

Courtesy Driving School will offer segments one and two driver education classes at Lake City High School during July.  Segment one class runs July 7-24.  You must be 14 years and 8 months of age the first day of class to be eligible.  Total cost is $254.  Segment  two runs July 21,22, and 24.  You must have your level one license for 90 days and have thirty driving hours completed for segment two.  Total cost is $30.  To register, please call 800-256-9559 or you may pick up a brochure from

SENIORS- the following are the last scholarships available and due soon - see Mrs. Richardson for applications: 

 

Lake City Federation of Teachers – for students who have ALREADY BEEN ACCEPTED into the education program of a university.

 

Falmouth Co-Op Scholarship – for students who are connected with agriculture and whose family is actively conducting business with the Falmouth Co-Op.  Two $2500 awards will be given.  Application requires references and is due Monday, May 5.

 

Jim Comp Memorial Scholarship Program – for students who are pursuing a career in Natural Resources or Environmental Study within our ISD.  Application is due ASAP.

 

MSU Alumni Club Scholarship – for students who are attending Michigan State University in the fall.  Due ASAP – see Mrs. Richardson.

Congratulations to Micala Taylor who received second place for her engraved and bronzed horse portrait at the Engineering Technology MITES Competition.  She also received a $2000 scholarship to MIAT College of Technology. Congratulations to Marcus Musselman for receiving a GMAW AWS Welding Certification through the CTC Metal Fabricating and Welding Early College Program.
