Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Bridget Denson.

 

YAC students who are planning on going caroling Wednesday must have their permission slip in by the end of the day Monday.  Talk with teachers ahead of time to find out what you will be missing.

 

Seniors – your baby picture and quote are due today.  Your senior picture, with photo release is due by Friday, December 18.  All items must be given to Mrs. Atkins.  Also, if you plan on going on the senior trip, you need to pay your dues in full by Friday, January 8!  No exceptions. 

 

Remember to recognize a classmate, teammate, friend, teacher, or staff member being kind today by stopping in the office (teachers’ lounge for staff) and placing a ballot in the Be Nice bucket.  

 

The sophomore class will be having a popcorn sale over the next few weeks for a Popcorn Day on Thursday, December 17.  Popcorn will be $1 a bag.  If you are interested in having popcorn delivered to you second hour that Thursday, come to the High School library and see Mrs. Baron.

 

Tutoring is scheduled today after school in Mrs. VanderBrook’s and Mrs. Thom’s rooms.

 

Seniors - remember to sign the 2016 template for the senior t-shirt design in Mr. Bongard’s room.  PLEASE STOP AND SIGN EVEN IF YOU DO NOT PLAN ON GETTING A SHIRT OR HOODIE. 

 

The high school band concert is Monday, December 14 at 7:00 p.m.

 

The Ardis Missaukee District Library will be celebrating National Science Fiction Day on Saturday, January 2 by showing a Star Wars movie with popcorn.  May the force be with you.

JV/Varsity girls basketball vs Mancelona, game starts at 6:00 p.m. tonight.

 

Red Sea reminder - the girls basketball hosts Mancelona tonight. Get there with your Red Sea t-shirts on and support the team in the student section! You must wear your shirt to get in the game free.

 

There are still Highland Conference volleyball shirts available.  See Mrs. Vokes if you are interested.

 

Winter season passes are available in the athletic office or at any home game. $50 per family, $10 per student

This week the Go To Team is sponsoring Be Nice week!  If you notice a classmate, teammate, friend, teacher, or staff member going out of their way to be kind to someone else, you have a chance to recognize them.  In the office (and in the teachers’ lounge for staff) there will be a Be Nice bucket and ballots.  Please stop in to nominate anyone you see being extra nice! Spread some holiday cheer by treating each other nicely. An act of kindness goes a long way for the one being treated kindly, and for the one being kind. There may be fun rewards, too. J

Juniors who would like to help organize the Powder Puff volleyball game, there will be a meeting today at lunch in Mrs. Phillips’ room.  Grab your lunch and come on down. 

 

Juniors will be released at 10:45 today to the auditorium for a career and college presentation, and will be there until lunch.  Seniors will be released to go to the auditorium for the presentation after 5th hour attendance.  Seniors who have PM CTC may go to the morning presentation.

Sophomores - meet in the lobby tomorrow morning when the bell rings.  Attendance will be taken as you board the busses for the CTC visit. Please dress for the weather as you may have a short walk outside to some of the programs.  You will not need to bring anything with you.  You will be returning about 11:30 and will go to your 4th hour class. 

 

Juniors will be released at 10:45 to go to the auditorium tomorrow for a presentation on career and college options, and will be there until lunch.  Juniors who have AM CTC may go to the afternoon presentation if they desire.  Seniors will be released to go to the auditorium for the presentation after 5th hour attendance.  Seniors who have PM CTC may go to the morning presentation.
