Juniors – there is a meeting about prom in Mr. Bongard’s room today during lunch.  Start time is 12:05 p.m.  Come if you’re interested. 

 

SENIORS – Jostens will meet with you second hour on Monday, October 8 regarding your

senior orders.  You are to report to class for attendance and then you will be dismissed

to the auditorium.

 

Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Tiffany Porter.

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

 

Seniors – Scholarship info has been added to the school website!  Be sure to check it out regularly!

Lake Superior State University will be here Thursday, October 11.  Please sign up in the office before or after school or during your lunch time.

 

The PSAT will be given on the morning of Wednesday, October 17, in the auditorium.  This is open to any 10th or 11th grader who wishes to take it.  The cost is $15 to be paid to Ms. Gilson by the day of the test.  There is a sign-up sheet in the office.  See Mrs. Richardson if you have any questions.

 

Cadillac High School will be hosting their Annual College Night Program for juniors and seniors Thursday, October 11 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the auxiliary gymnasium.  Many college representatives will be there to talk to and provide you with information.

 

ATHLETICS

 

Varsity Football vs Evart, home, game starts at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday – Varsity Volleyball @ Suttons Bay, invite starts at 8:30 a.m.

Saturday – Varsity Cross Country @ Pine River, invite starts at 9:00 a.m.

JV Volleyball @ Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart, dismissal time 2:30 p.m., bus departs at 2:45 p.m., game starts at 5:00 p.m.

JV Football @ Evart, bus departs at 4:30 p.m., game starts at 6:30 p.m.

The 2nd Annual Athletic Boosters Tailgate event will take place Friday, October 5, at the athletic complex from 5:30-7 p.m.  They will be serving pulled pork and other delicious items.  All proceeds support Lake City Area Schools athletic programs.

YAC-sters - remember we have a meeting at 7:15 a.m. in Ms. Morse’s room this Thursday.  Norann will be bringing doughnuts, so please be on time.

 

Math tutoring is scheduled for Thursday, October 4 in Mr. Thom’s room.

 

October 18 is a half-day of school due to parent-teacher conferences.  There will still be CTC in the afternoon and the bus will run its regularly scheduled time.  CTC students – you must make arrangements to have your parents pick you up when the bus returns to school.

 

We have received calls recently regarding Lake City students loitering and littering during lunch.  Please be advised the city is patrolling and will issue a ticket to all students in violation.

Volunteers are needed to work at the Annual Chamber Dinner.  It is Tuesday, October 16, at the American Legion downtown.  The time will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m.  This is another great opportunity for NHS service hours, or just to volunteer in your community.  Sign up in Mrs. Richardson’s office.
