STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Parent-Teacher conferences are today in teacher classrooms from 5-7 p.m. on tomorrow from    12:30-3:30 and 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday.  Thursday will be a half-day of school and there will be no school for students on Friday.

Jostens will be here Wednesday, October 12 during lunch to order graduation items.

All athletes and Physical Education students need to have the locker room cleaned out, and locks removed, before they leave for the day on Thursday.  The inside of the lockers are going to be cleaned on Friday.

If you received a student ID, but did not receive your pictures, please stop by the office. 

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER                                                                                                                

The Lighthouse Café in Lake City runs every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month.  They’re in need of 2-4 people to help them unload the truck of food from about 2-2:30 until 3:30 or if wanted, stay and help people load boxes until 5-5:30 p.m.  It is a great volunteer opportunity that will look good on scholarship applications and resume’s and is only two times per month.  If it can be worked out in your schedule to go, we will school excuse it.  We need people who will be consistent.  Please let Mrs. Richardson know asap if you are interested.

 

If you want to go on the CMU trip, you must register online by the end of the day tomorrow.  Check the email you listed for the link.  There is also a permission slip you need to pick up, get signed, and returned to Mr. Fairbrother once you have registered.  If you have not registered on line yet, see

Mr. Fairbrother. Permission slips are due by the end of the day Tuesday, October 11.  These things must be done, or you will not be allowed to attend the trip

 

Financial Aid Night for seniors and parents will be held from 6-7 p.m. in the auditorium tonight.    Financial Aid specialists will be here to explain the entire FAFSA process.  The library will also be open one hour before and after the presentation, for students and parents to bring in their information and get help with completing the FAFSA. 

 

Central Michigan University will be here today at 1:30 p.m. in the library.  A representative from University of Michigan will be here Thursday at 8:30 a.m.

 

ATHLETICS

 

The Athletic Boosters are asking for athletes help selling Bear Claw Trash Bags.  This is a big fundraiser for our Athletic Boosters.  Please make extra copies as needed.  Any questions, see

There will be a short meeting for all Junior Class Officers and Junior Student Council Representatives in the High School Library during lunch today.  Feel free to bring your lunch so we have time to discuss all the things on our list.  Thank you.

Ms. Ellis and Mrs. Scott would like to meet with the freshmen student council members tomorrow at 7:50 a.m. in Ms. Ellis’ lab.  This meeting will only take a few minutes!

 

Courtesy Driving School classes start in October.  Pre-registration is required. Brochures are available in the office.

There will be a college visit for juniors and seniors to Central Michigan University on Friday,

October 14.  We will be taking a bus to CMU where they will present of an overview of the college,

a walking tour and lunch.  Students will be gone all day and it will be school excused.  If you are interested in attending, please sign up in the office.  You must provide an email address and follow

a link to register.  You must register online in order to go by Wednesday, October 5.
