Baker College is offering Segment 1 drivers education classes beginning April 21. Registration forms are outside the office or see Mr. Yeomans at lunch to sign up.

 

The forensics regional competition is today.  All forensics students are to be dismissed at 12:45 p.m. 

 

Turn in money and contracts for After Prom to Erin Swanson, Jessica Miller, or Mrs. Peterson by lunch today.

 

Students will not be able to charge lunch in the cafeteria for the rest of this school year.  You may deposit money in your account or pay as you go.  Any student who has a charge will need to pay the amount that is owed. 

 

Congratulations to our Student of the Week – Cody Burns.

 

The Kiwanis Honors Banquet is scheduled for Monday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Parent tickets are $5.00 each.  All other tickets are $9.00 each.  See Cindy Gilson in the high school

office to purchase your ticket.

 

Prom tickets will be on sale today during lunch.  Price is $25 per person, which includes a picture package. 

 

 

COUNSELOR'S CORNER

 

Any student that is interested in dual enrollment for next year, please sign up in the office.  There will be a meeting on Tuesday, April 19 at 12:30 p.m. in the auditorium for information you need in order to dual enroll.

 

The Wexford-Missaukee Career Tech Center will be hosting their annual open house on Tuesday, April 19 from 9:00–2:30 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m.  There will be a cosmetology fashion show at 5:30 p.m. in the Lake Superior room.  Check out their 14 different programs.  There will be snacks and door prizes.  If you are interested in attending CTC in the future, it would be a very good idea to attend!

 

There will be a Get Set for College presentation for all juniors on Wednesday, April 20 - 4th hour in the auditorium.  This will provide information needed for your senior year for furthering your education in any way.  Go to your 4th hour class for attendance and then head to the auditorium.

 

ATHLETICS

 

There has been a change in location for ball games scheduled for today.  The JV baseball team will now play at Forest Area.  The team will ride the bus with the varsity softball team.  The varsity baseball team will play at Lake City.  All baseball and softball games begin at 4:30 p.m.

 

Varsity golf @ Manton, bus departs at 8:15 a.m., invite starts at 9:30 a.m.

Varsity track @ Onekama, dismissal time 11:45 a.m., bus departs at 12:00 p.m., invite starts at 2:00 p.m..

Varsity baseball vs Forest Area, home, 4:30 p.m.

JV baseball/varsity softball @ Forest Area, dismissal time 2:45 p.m., bus departs at 3:00 p.m., game at

the end of the day today, or you may not get in – even if you will be a second year student.

There is an important prom committee meeting today at lunch in Mrs. Atkin's room. 

 

Junior class officers have a meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) at lunch in Mrs. Peterson's room to plan

what will be said at the board meeting on Wednesday night.  Please plan on being there.

If you are planning on attending after-prom, please pick up a contract as soon as possible from Erin Swanson, Jessica Miller or Mrs. Peterson.  The cost is $10 and may be paid when you pick up or drop off your contract. After-prom will be at the high school and there are lots of fun activities planned. There will be an inflatable obstacle course, bungee run, and jousting ring as well as sumo wrestling, Wii Guitar Hero and Just Dance and Minute to Win It competitions and more surprises. Everyone will go home with a t-shirt and prizes. The last day to sign up is Wednesday, April 13.  All money and contracts are due back no later than Friday, April 15.

No contracts will be accepted the day of prom.
