*STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS*

GENERAL

1.  The student council counted and sorted 362 cans of food that were brought in for the canned food drive the classes places at follows.  In last place the seniors, third place the juniors, second place the sophomores and first place the freshman.  The overall spirit points are as follows (note: this does not include the last two red pride Fridays)

            Juniors - 23 points

            Sophomores- 26 points

            Seniors - 40 points

            Freshman- 41 points

2.  YAC is hosting a “Fingers & Toes Before It Snows” drive for needy children.  Donations of new mittens, gloves, or socks for infants through youth sizes can be brought to the Middle or High School libraries or local businesses.  The drive ends November 30th.

3.  Those students who did not pick up their class rings from the Josten’s rep can pick them up in the office.  Make sure checks are made payable to Jostens.

4.  Seniors -- your senior info and pictures are due before Christmas.  Please get this in as soon as possible to Mrs. Atkins or Hayley Mund.

5.  Missaukee Ski Mountain will be open this Saturday, 11/29 at 10:00am.

 

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

1.  Challenge of the Week–Give “High 5’s” to friends, staff, acquaintances, and even those you don’t know in the hallway.

2.  The General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Michigan is funding two $500 scholarships in the state for students pursuing further education in the Arts and Nursing.  See Mrs. Richardson for an application.  Applications are due by November 28th to the scholarship chairman.

3.  The local Masonic Lodge is offering 2 scholarships of at least $500 to Lake City seniors.  The Beacon Scholarship and The Floyd Helsel Memorial Scholarship.  See Mrs. Richardson for applications.  They are due to Mrs. Richardson by December 10th.

4.  Go To Team members – your permission slips for the retreat are due to Mrs. Richardson by December 2nd.  If you did not get one or need a new one, stop by Mrs. Richardson’s office.  There is no meeting this week!  Happy Thanksgiving!

 

 

SPORTS

1.  Students are reminded not to run in the lower elementary halls before, during or after school.

2.  Caberfae red cards are now on sale.  Cost is $1.00.  See Ms. Gilson before school or during your lunch break.

3.The athletic department has Lake City Trojan lanyards for sale.  They make great stocking stuffers.  Cost is $3.00 each or two for $5.00.  See Mr. Peterson or Ms. Gilson.

4.  The weight room will be open starting next Monday, 12/2 after school.  All athletes are encouraged to attend.

5.  Any girl interested in being a manager or statistician for the Girl's JV Basketball team, please see Mr. Gagnon today.

1.  The annual canned food drive has begun.  The class that wins receives spirit points.  Please bring your canned goods to the following locations

            Senior: Bongard                                           Sophomores: Bernier/Phillips

            Juniors: VanderBrook/Richardson                       Freshman: Peterson/Atkins

2.  YAC is hosting a “Fingers & Toes Before It Snows” drive for needy children.  Donations of new mittens, gloves, or socks for infants through youth sizes can be brought to the Middle or High School libraries or local businesses.  The drive ends November 30th.

1.  Cheer team members – practice begins today, Monday, 11/24 at 3:45pm in the cafeteria.

2.  Freshman Volleyball Girls - please drop your money off in the office to Ms. Gilson so I can pick up gifts for the volunteers from this season. I will be in to pick up the money Wednesday after school. Thanks Coach Nolan.
