Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Bobby Snow!

 

The final Red Cross Blood Drive of the year is next Monday, May 9. If you are at least 16 and would like to donate, please register ASAP by clicking on the link on the school’s website. See Mr. Thom with questions.

 

The Lake City Athletic Boosters are sponsoring a float for the 4th of July and would like help from the students to design and guild it.  Please see Charlie Crittenden if you are interested.

 

Seniors – your cap and gowns will be distributed on the morning of Wednesday, May 11 in the library. 

 

The last freshmen Yankee Candle fundraiser orders, with collected money, must be turned in to

Mrs. Peterson Monday morning.  If you need more packets for the weekend please see

Mrs. Peterson.

 

Freshmen vision screening is scheduled for Monday.  A student will be coming to pull freshmen throughout the morning for testing.

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER                                                                                                                

 

French I is going to be offered next year as an elective option.  If you are interested in taking French next year, please go in to your Power School account and add that to your requests. If you are unable to do that, see Mrs. Richardson to let her know you would like to take it.  This needs to be done by next Monday.

 

Forms for Dual Enrollment, Teacher Academy, and Independent Study classes for next year are due to Mrs. Richardson by the end of the day!

 

ATHLETICS

JV Softball at Ludington, students dismiss at 1:00, bus departs at 1:15, game starts at 4:00 p.m.

Junior Class Officers – there will be a short meeting at 8:00 a.m. in the auditorium with Jostens on Thursday, May 8 to start discussing 2017 graduation.

 

Seniors – your cap and gowns will be distributed on the morning of Wednesday, May 11 in the library. 

 

There will be a meeting during lunch on Friday in Mr. Bongard’s room for any seniors going on the senior trip.  If you can’t make it, check in with Mr. Bongard or Mrs. Clous.

 

Students - pick up your trash after lunch. There were a lot of pop and water bottles left out front yesterday that had to be picked up.

There is a short golf meeting at 12:25 today in the gym by Mr. Vasicek’s office.  If you are at CTC in the afternoon see Mr. Vacicek before you leave. 

 

Varsity softball will practice 3:30-5 in the HS gym today and JV from 5-6:30.  Open boys basketball will be in the gym today from 6:30-8 p.m.

 

There is a meeting for all girls interested in playing volleyball or basketball today in the auditorium during lunch time.

 

There is a football meeting today at 11:45 in the high school gym for any student grades 9-11 interested in playing football. 

 

The spring trash bag sales has started. See a spring athlete or stop in the athletic office to place an order.

Starting today there will be no more charging at lunch time.  If you are Reduced or Full Paid you will need to have money in hand or on your account.  If you do not have either, then you will be given the alternate meal.  Please make sure that your meal account is up-to-date.  If you need a print out, please ask in the kitchen. 

 

Freshmen:  Your Yankee Candle money and orders are due today!

This weekend, the Lake City Forensics team competed at the state tournament at Central Michigan University.  The team finished 7th in the state for class C/D schools.  If you see Collin Hinkston in the hallway, congratulate him because he is the State Champion in Dramatic Interpretation!  Ethan Wetzel and Andrew Fecther were also State Semi-Finalists in Duo Interpretation.    If you are interested in learning more about forensics, come to the Fine Arts Fair on Tuesday, May 17 to see some of the team members perform their pieces!

There is golf practice today at the course.  Meet by the back red doors for a ride to the course.  Coach B will be there by 4:00 p.m.  Use the putting green until he arrives.
