FROM THE PRINCIPAL: students are not to be in the parking lot at any time during the school day – for any reason – without permission.

 

VARSITY CLUB – there will be a meeting at noon in the auditorium on Monday, April 19.

 

Congratulations to the forensics team – every competitor placed at regionals and will advance to the state competition on April 30 and May 1 at CMU.

 

Alec Ash’s burial will take place Saturday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lake City cemetery north of town on M-66.  Alec will be buried on the east side of the cemetery.

 

Weatherspotter training is scheduled for Monday, April 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Missaukee EMS building.  If you are interested contact the Missaukee Emergency Management office at 839-7839.

 

STUDENT COUNCIL - there will be a meeting today during lunch in room 11.  Get your lunch and then go directly to

room 11.

 

If you are interested in performing at Senior Oscar Night on Friday, April 30, you need to sign up in the office by THIS FRIDAY.  Juniors who would like to be award presenters for Senior Oscar Night also need to sign up in the office ASAP.

 

Congratulations to Brittany DuVall – our Student of the Week.

 

Prom tickets will be on sale all this week.  The deadline is April 16 because we have to turn in a head count to Fox Hill.  If this is a problem see Ms. Bernier or Mrs. Phillips.  Again, the price is $25 which includes a photo package.

 

Take driver education in a convertible with Mr. Yeomans at Baker College.  Class begins April 26.  Sign up forms are located in the wall pocket outside the office or see Mr. Yeomans at lunch.

 

Effective April 23, high school students will no longer be able to charge lunch in the cafeteria.

 

If you plan to take a guest to prom who is not a LCHS student, you must register that person with the high school office.  Your guest must be under the age of 21 and approved by the principal. 

 

 

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

 

The Wexford-Missaukee Career Tech Center will be holding their annual open house from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday,

April 20.  Everyone is invited to check out their programs.  The cosmetology program will sponsor a fashion show at

5:00 p.m. in the Lake Superior Room.

 

The list of scholarships on the website has been updated.  Look under “For Students.”  Seniors – be sure to check it out – there are still some good opportunities available.

Varsity track @ the Onekama Frostbite Invite – bus leaves at 11:30 a.m.  – dismissal at 11:15 a.m.

This Wednesday (4/14/10), The Lake City Forensics Team competed in the Regional tournament at Grayling High School.  Every Lake City competitor placed and will be advancing to the State Meet on April 30 and May 1 at Central Michigan University.  Congratulations to the ENTIRE team!

Results of the Mr. Lake City Pageant:  Alex Langmesser was crowned Mr. Lake City, Tyler Murray was Runner Up, and Swim Suit went to Kasey Getty.  Thank you to all who participated.

SOPHOMORE/JUNIORS – there will be a meeting on Tuesday, April 13 at 9:30 a.m. in the auditorium regarding dual enrollment classes for the 2010-11 school year.  We will discuss how to qualify, the types of courses, and student responsibilities for taking courses.  If you are interested, sign up in the office.
