Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Ciara Richardson.

 

Science tutoring is scheduled today in Mrs. Thom’s room from 3:20-4:00 p.m.

 

Any student 16 or older who would like to donate blood next Friday, please sign-up with Cylee Burns or online on the school website. You get a free snack and juice, an hour out of class, and could save a life, or three!

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

 

Michigan Youth Leadership is planning their annual MYLead Conference for current high school sophomores.  There are two conferences this year and our school can send up to four people.  They are held at MSU mid-May and June, Friday through Sunday.  Let me Mrs. Richardson know if you would like to be nominated to attend.

 

Seniors – today is the deadline to register for Mid-Michigan Community College’s Laker Distinction Scholarship Competition.  If you have a 3.5 GPA or higher, you may qualify for a full tuition scholarship.  See Mrs. Richardson if you have questions.

 

There will be a meeting for students interested in taking a Dual Enrollment or Independent Study class for 2nd semester on Wednesday, October 28 in the auditorium. If you are interested but cannot attend the meeting, see Mrs. Richardson.

Varsity football at Manton, bus departs at 5:35 p.m., game starts at 7:00 p.m.

 

Saturday – Varsity cross country regionals

 

Attention JV and varsity volleyball players - practice times Monday have been changed

Monday, October 27 to JV from 3:30-5:00 and varsity from 5:00-6:30.

 

There will be a short sign-up meeting for boys interested in trying out for basketball on Monday, October 27 from 12:10-12:30 in the auditorium.

 

VOLLEYBALL AND CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETES: parents’ night is scheduled for Tuesday,

October 28.  If you have not already registered with Ms. Gilson do so today.

English tutoring is scheduled today in Mrs. Phillips’ room after school.

 

Science tutoring is scheduled for Friday, October 24 in Mrs. Thom’s room from 3:20-4:00 p.m.

 

Math tutoring is scheduled Thursday, October 23 in Mrs. Peterson’s room after school.

 

Juniors - there will be a prom planning meeting Thursday, October 23 during lunch in Mrs. Clous’ room.  You will be choosing the theme. 

 

The pencil machine has been stocked.  Only 50 cents for a mechanical pencil.

 

Seniors – your yearbook quote is due Friday, October 31, your baby picture is due at the end of November, and your senior picture is due by Christmas to either Mrs. Atkins or Joe.

Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Ciara Richardson.

 

Students attending CAD Day at CTC tomorrow must report to their first hour class at 8:15 a.m.  to check in with their teacher and then report directly to the lobby to board the bus.  The bus needs to leave by 8:18 a.m.

 

Biology tutoring is scheduled today after school in Mrs. Clous’ room.

 

Social Studies tutoring is scheduled today after school in Mrs. Atkin’s room.

Northern Michigan University will be here today at 1:30 p.m. in the library.  Northwestern Michigan College will be here tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.  If you would like to meet with their representative, sign up in the office before school, after school, or during lunch.

 

There is an opportunity to volunteer on Saturday, October 25, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  at an event sponsored by the Lake City Womans’ Club.  If you are interested, let Mrs. Richardson know.  Remember – volunteer work looks great on applications and resumes!
