Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Justin Balcer.
Sophomores – fundraiser orders, with money, are due Monday, November 4!
There will be no school for students tomorrow due to professional development for staff.
Katherine Phillips, local author and graduate of Lake City High School, will be at the Missaukee library this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. for a book signing. All three of her novels will be available.
Courtesy Driving School is offering segment I and II classes in November. Information with phone number is located on the bulletin board in the lobby.
Math tutoring is scheduled for today in Mr. Prielipp’s room.
Freshmen – Yankee Candle orders are due on Wednesday, November 13. Products will be delivered before Christmas.
COUNSELOR’S CORNER
The University of Michigan and Northwestern Michigan University will be here Wednesday,
November 6. Sign up in the office during lunch or before or after school.
Seniors – if you are planning on attending CMU, have a 3.7 gpa, and a 27 on your ACT, you could take part in the Centralis and Honors Scholarship Competition on November 16. The deadline to register is Friday, November 8. Go to www.cmich.edu/centralis
ATHLETICS
Friday – varsity football vs Whittemore-Prescott, home, game starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 each (no passes) and are available today and Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. from Ms. Gilson, or at the gate on Friday.
Saturday – varsity volleyball Highland tournament @ McBain, first match starts at 8 a.m.
Saturday – JV volleyball Highland tournament @ Pine River, first match starts at 8 a.m.
The athletic boosters are requesting that all Lake City fans wear black to the game tomorrow night. Let’s support our team and support our boosters!
There will be a sign up meeting for boys interested in participating in wrestling today at 12:10 in the auditorium. Coach will be there – be on time!
SENIOR ATHLETES – applications are available for the MHSAA/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete Award. Lake City can submit three girls and three boys. You must have a gpa of 3.5 and must have earned your varsity letter. See Ms. Gilson for an application. All applications are due by Friday, November 22.
