STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

The gym will be locked beginning Monday, May 21 for graduation set up. PE students are to use the

locker room entrances off the library hallway.

SENIORS – be sure to clean out your locker before leaving today.



Graduation practices have been scheduled for Thursday, May 24 and Friday, May 25, at 9:00 a.m. each day. Both practices are mandatory. It is important that you attend and are on time!



Students- please make sure you have paid all of your library fines, and returned all of your library books by May 28, or you will not receive your final report cards. Also remember to pay any lunch charges that are owed.



Attention student body - it is time to run for president, vice president, secretary or treasurer and student council. Forms are available from Mrs. VanderBrook or your class advisor. Student council petitions can only be picked up from Mrs. VanderBrook. All forms are due no later than Tuesday, May 22 at 3:30 p.m. No late forms will be accepted.

Students who want to take an Independent Study online class, a Dual Enrollment class, or be a part of the Teacher Academy for next year, you must turn in paperwork by Friday. If you have not picked up the paperwork, see Mrs. Richardson right away. If you do not get your registration forms in by this Friday, you will not be able to take one of these courses next fall. This is the final deadline! See Mrs. Richardson with any questions.


We are offering a Summer Credit Recovery session again this summer. You can make up a credit in Math, English, Science, or Social Studies (maximum of 3 courses = 1.5 credits). The program will run for 3 weeks, 3 days per week, 3 hours per day per class, beginning on June 12. If you are in need of making up a core class, see Mrs. Richardson for a sign-up sheet.

Saturday – Boys/Girls Varsity Track Regionals @ East Jordan, bus departs at 6:45 a.m., meet starts 8:00 a.m.



A fundraiser for the wrestling program has been scheduled for Saturday, May 26. Any student interested in helping, must sign up with Ms. Gilson by Wednesday, May 23. You will be picking up pine cones for the Dutchman Tree Farm. Transportation to the farm will be provided. Meet in the north parking lot of the high school by 8:00 a.m. on the 26th.

Missaukee Paddle Sports invites Lake City High School students to join our Lets Go Paddling! passport program for a summer of fun on Lake Missaukee. We offer canoes, kayaks, and new this year, stand-up paddle boards. Each pass includes unlimited canoe, kayak, and board rental on Lake Missaukee throughout the season, based on availability.

The cost is $30 per pass and can be purchased by contacting Missaukee Paddle Sports - 839.8265.



Math tutoring tomorrow will be with Mrs. Peterson.

There will be a junior class meeting on Tuesday, May 15 during 1st hour. All juniors will be dismissed

to the auditorium from 8:30-8:50 a.m. The Jostens rep will meet with the class officers from 8:15-8:30 a.m. in the auditorium.



Seniors – your Senior Awards ceremony is tonight. Come and celebrate you, and your classmates', accomplishments. It begins at 6pm in the auditorium. Please dress appropriately for the semi-formal ceremony.

There is an opening that is all paid for at the MY Lead Conference at MSU next weekend for a 10th grade girl. It is a great leadership conference, would be a good opportunity and will look great on college, job, and scholarship applications. The American Legion is looking for 4-5 high school students again this year that will help place flags at the cemeteries north of town for Memorial Day. They would like to do it one day next week about 4pm. If there is enough help, it will only take about an hour. They count on our students each year to help and it is a great way to volunteer and give time to your community. See Mrs. Richardson a.s.a.p. if you are interested.

SENIORS AND STUDENT COUNCIL MEMEBERS GOING ON THE SPIRIT TRIP- your signed permission slip is due today. Please turn them in to the office.



SENIORS – exam exemption forms must be turned in to the office by 3:30 p.m. today.



Congratulations to Ashley Goodman – our Student of the Week.



Today is the final day for Fine Forgiveness Days in the High School Library. Come on in and have your fines forgiven just by asking. The policy is as follows: 1. if you have a library fine, come to the library and tell us you have a fine that you want forgiven and we will clear your account. 2. If you have an overdue book, bring it in and we will forgive all of your fines. 3. If you have a lost book and only a little bit of money, bring it in and we will take whatever you can give us for your lost book and clear your account. 4. Please note: this is not a yearly occurrence! We are doing this once as a trial. We are not banking on it happening again.
