Congratulations to the following students who placed at the State Finals for shop:  Lucas Madden

in 2nd place, Logan Reid 1st, Kelsey Trumble 6th, Levi Aten Honorable Mention, Randy LaBean 3rd, Caleb Bellow 3rd, Daisymae Drouillard Honorable Mention, Waylon Eising 2nd, Nick Hose 3rd, Tanner Hutchinson 4th, Robert McGee 8th, Logan Pitz 3rd, 7th, and 1st,  Cade Peterson 1st, Makaya Smith 2, Charles Richards 5th, Thomas Anderson 9th, Travis Hamel 9th, Cassie Drouillard 3rd Justin Balcer 1st, Lucas Marion 10th, and as a Group Ethan Blaszak, Caleb Cnossen Seth Vincent and Jeffery Steiner placed 4th.  The group of Logan Pitz, Nick Hose, and Randy LaBean placed 1st.

Attention: All boys’ basketball players planning on playing next season, please pick up a BLUE night camp registration form outside the athletic office and return it to the office with payment by Friday, May 27. Also, if you are attending Ferris State ($75) or GVSU ($80) Team Camp, please turn your money in as soon as possible to the office or Coach Besko. If you have questions, please see Coach Besko. Seniors – after attendance is taken during AI, please go to your locker and quietly clean it out except for what you need for the next week.

 

Senior exam exemption forms are due to the office by the end of the day today. 

 

Students please note - you are not to bring ice cream treats down the hallway to your lockers or to class rooms.  Please finish them at lunch!

Lake City Middle School Bulletin for Thursday, May 12, 2016

Lunch Starting on Monday, May 23rd you will no longer be able to charge a lunch. If you are Reduced or Full Paid you will need cash in hand or money on your account to eat lunch. If you do not have either, you will be given the alternative meal.....a cheese sandwich. This does not apply to Free lunch students. Thank you for your cooperation!


Spring Trash Bag Sale The spring trash bags sale will be held May 2-15. See any spring athlete or stop in the athletic office to place an order.


Please Join Us!! Class of 2020, come join us at the High School Auditorium tonight at 6pm for a Student and Parent Orientation. This meeting will provide important information regarding your High School experience and you won't want to miss out.


Yearbooks Yearbooks are still on sale. There are a few weeks left to order your yearbook. Forms are located in the office, hallway or library. Cost is only $16.


Summer is here! With the warm and sunny weather finally here we ask that you remember that sunglasses/hats are not to be warn in school. Also, shorts/skirts should be at least fingertip length. No tank tops. If any questions you can refer to the student handbook for more details. Thank you!


Boys Basketball Camps Attention: all boys’ basketball players interested in playing basketball next year please pick up a Lake City Basketball Camp registration form across from office. 6th and 7th graders grab the GREEN sheet, and 8th graders the BLUE sheet. The camps run June 20-23rd. Also, if you are an 8th grader who is planning on attending the Ferris State Team Camp please get your cash or check of $75 to Coach Besko as soon as possible. If you have any questions about any of the camps please see Coach Besko. Thanks!


Cell Phone/Electronic Device Reminder Remember that all phones and electronic devices should be turned off and placed in your locker once school starts. Use of personal iPods, phones, or other electronic devices can be used during lunch time ONLY. If you need to use the phone for illness please use the office phone. If a student is found in possession of a cell phone it will be confiscated and parents will be asked to pick it up from school. A second offense will result in out-of-school suspension.


8th grade girls The meeting for any 8th grade girl who is interested in playing basketball or volleyball next year, will be in room 164, today, at 11:50.


MS Track Both Boys and Girls MS Track teams ran away with 1st place wins last night. While in Marion we had 78 individual PR's set. Nice job to both teams! Reminder that our track meet will be held in Pine River on Friday.

Any senior who has not signed up for senior trip chaperones please see Mrs. Clous ASAP.  We will have a trip meeting tomorrow during lunch in Mr. Bongard’s room.

Seniors – you will be receiving your cap and gown tomorrow morning in the library.  You need to go to your 1st hour class and then go to the library.  We will also be doing a “Decision Day” celebration where each senior will declare their plans for after graduation.  You can fill out a certificate that will be posted and go in a slide show and be entered in a drawing for great prizes!  AM CTC students, head to the library as soon as you return to school to pick up your items.

The Lake City Athletic Boosters are sponsoring a float for the 4th of July and would like help from the students to design and guild it.  Please see Charlie Crittenden if you are interested.

 

Freshmen vision screening is scheduled for tomorrow.  A student will be coming to pull freshmen throughout the morning for testing.
