The student council is sponsoring a "White Out" tomorrow night at the boys’ basketball games.

All spectators are asked to wear WHITE. Students will receive a spirit point if they check-in with

Mrs. Vanderbrook in the lobby between the two games.

 

Tuesday begins Chill-out Week. Dress as a “Fashion Disaster” and get your spirit point at the beginning of lunch.

 

NHSers - the blood drive sign-up forms have arrived.  If you are interested in helping out on Friday, March 1 please see Ms. Bernier AFTER SCHOOL to sign up.

 

Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Michael Burwell.

 

MatchMaker forms will be on sale at lunch today for $2. That’s a small price to pay to find out who you are most compatible with.

 

Chill-out week starts Tuesday, February 19 culminating with Mock Rock 2013 on Saturday,

February 23. Lots of spirit points are up for grabs.

 

Math tutoring is scheduled for today 14 in Mrs. Peterson’s room.

Today is the last day to get your picture taken at the photo booth.  Gather your friends to take a picture.  All purchased pictures will be in the yearbook.  Cost is $1 for each picture copy. 

SENIORS – pictures for the graduate composite will be taken Wednesday morning, February 20 in the auditorium.  Morning CTC seniors are to report to the auditorium before leaving or immediately upon return from CTC.  Seniors will be dismissed 4-5 at a time throughout the morning. 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

 

Sargent Bradley from the Marines will be here on Wednesday, February 20 right after lunch in the library.  He will be giving a presentation on the ROTC and band opportunities with the military.  If you are interested in hearing about how to get college paid for, or if you are a band member interested in hearing what is available, sign up in the office to see him.

 

ATHLETICS

 

Girls JV/Varsity basketball vs Beal City, home, game starts at 6:00 p.m.

Friday – boys JV/Varsity basketball vs Pine River, home, games starts at 6:00 p.m.

 

Parents’ night for varsity girls basketball and cheer is scheduled for Friday, February 22. 

Girls – register your parents with Ms. Gilson during lunch today.

 

Lake City wrestling is having a bench-a-thon fundraiser Saturday, February 23.  If interested check out the posters in the hallway for entry information.

The Missaukee Conservation District is looking for several volunteers to serve at their annual dinner.  It is Monday, February 18 from 4–8:30 p.m. at Timber Wolf Lodge.  You will get a free dinner, get to listen to a national speaker and hear performers Seth Bernard and Daisy May.  This is a great opportunity to help within your community and a chance to get volunteer hours to put on your applications and resumes.  Sign up in Mrs. Richardson’s office asap!

Baker College is offering segment 1 driver education classes starting Friday, March 1.  Sign up forms are located outside the office or see Mr. Yeomans at lunch to sign up.
