Seniors - please remember to pay your dues as soon as possible.  Final day is February 1.

 

There will be a meeting during lunch today in Mrs. Clous’ room for any freshman interested in coming up with ideas for our next fundraiser. 

 

The prom committee will be meeting in Mr. Bongard’s room today at lunch.

 

Congratulations to our Student of the Week – Bobby Larkin.

 

Exam exemption applications are available outside the high school office.  Completed applications are to be returned to the office no later than 3:30 p.m. tomorrow.

 

Math tutoring is scheduled in Mr. Thom’s room today.

Seniors interested in participating in Mock Rock, please go to Ms. Morse’s room at lunch today.

Interested in staying in shape this winter?  Not playing a winter sport?  Bring your friends and join the LC winter running/fitness club!  It starts tomorrow.  Stop by Mr. Webb’s room to pick up a flyer with more information if you are interested!

 

For Sale – an XL varsity jacket. Never owned by anyone - has only been tried on a couple times.  Cost is $40.00.  See Ms. Gilson if interested.

Seniors – the FAFSA may be filed any time now, as soon as your 2012 taxes are done.  The deadline is March 1.  If you did not make it to Financial Aid Night, you can stop in Mrs. Richardson’s office to get the information.  February 10 is college goal Sunday.  You can take your information to Baker College in Cadillac from 2-4 p.m. and advisors will be available to help you file the FAFSA.

 

Most of the local scholarships are due to Mrs. Richardson by Friday, January 18 by 3:30pm.  If you need letters of recommendation start asking now. Do not wait until the last week.  If you didn’t get the applications at Financial Aid night, you can pick them up in Mrs. Richardson’s office.

 

Juniors and Seniors – if you are interested in the agricultural industry, there will be a presentation for high school students to learn more about the opportunities available in this growing industry on Tuesday, January 15.  It will be held in Lansing put on by the Michigan Agri-Business Association.  Transportation may be available depending on interest.  If you are interested, see Mrs. Richardson right away.  Registration is due next Monday. 

 

The Annual Careers for Women conference will be held on Tuesday, February 5 at Fox Hill Event Center in Cadillac.  It will be an all-day event highlighting non-traditional careers for women.  There are several speakers lined up to make for an interesting day.  Lunch will be provided.  High school girls in 10th–12th grade may sign up in Mrs. Richardson’s office if interested.
