STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

If you have not yet turned in your census form to the office please do so immediately.  Failure to turn your census form in will result in a detention.

 

SOPHMORES – Jostens will be here tomorrow to take your class ring orders.  Orders will be taken in the library during lunch.   A $50.00 deposit is recommended with your order.  If you did not receive an order packet or if you have questions – see Ms. Gilson.

 

FRESHMAN – you did a great job on the float, but now we have to tear it down. We will be meeting at the Root’s house at 6:00 p.m. tonight. We will need all class officers and all who helped build it.

 

Tutoring for all subjects starts this week.  It will be on Tuesdays from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. in room 13.

 

NHS candidates – your applications are due this Wednesday.  They must be turned in to Ms. Bernier by 8:15 a.m.  There are no exceptions.  See Ms. Bernier if you have any questions.

 

Ticket takers are needed for the middle school volleyball game this Thursday.  See Ms. Bernier

ASAP if you are able to help out.

 

YAC members – there will be a meeting at noon in Ms. Morse’s room Tuesday, October 4. 

Please grab your lunch and head on down.  We have a lot to discuss, so please be prompt!

 

Juniors – the float tear down will be right after school tomorrow at the maintenance building.

Please show up ready to work! Good teamwork this year!

 

PARENTS – “the Missaukee County Road Commission requests your cooperation through the winter months while snowplowing is taking place.  We ask that you be aware of the fact that the plows are on the roads many mornings at the same times that the buses are picking up students.  We urge you to make sure that your children wait a safe distance from the plowed portion of the roadway until the bus actually arrives at their stop.  It is important that we work together to make certain of their safety.”  If you have questions regarding the above or any other snow removal problems, feel free to call Kelly Bekken, manager at the Missaukee County Road Commission 839-4361.

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

 

CTC will be holding its annual open house on Tuesday, October 4, from 6-8 p.m. at the Career Technical Center on 13th street in Cadillac.  They have moved the open house from the spring to fall, so go check out all of the programs that are available. 

 

The PSAT/NMSQT will be given at LCHS the morning of Wednesday, October 12.  Sophomores or juniors, who are interested in taking this test, please sign up in the office.  The cost is $14, payable to LCHS and given to Ms. Gilson in the back office.  See Mrs. Richardson if you have any questions.  You need to sign up by Friday, October 7.

Seniors – Last call for Yankee candles.  Our fundraiser is done today.  Let me know if you want to look at a catalog for Christmas ideas.

 

Seniors – float tear down will be Sunday at 12:30 p.m.  Please be there to help so the Atkins are not left doing everything!  The more people we have to help the quicker it will go.

We invite you to join us in “A Night Amongst the Gods” Saturday night.  Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the door.  The dance will take place from 8-11:15 p.m. If you plan to bring a guest to the homecoming dance, you must register that person in the high school office.  Your guest must be under the age of 20.  We must have a phone number to reach your guest if necessary.

 

Homecoming picture information packets are located in the rack outside the high school office.

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

 

Any senior with a 3.5 GPA or higher, who may be going to CMU, can participate in the Central’s Scholarship competition at CMU on October 29.  Register online at www.cmich.edu/centralis.

 

Cadillac high school will be hosting their annual college night on Wednesday, October 12, from

6:30-8:00 p.m. in their auxiliary gym.  Many college representatives will be there with information. Juniors and seniors should try to attend!

 

Go To Team applications are due no later than 3:30 today!

HOMECOMING COURT – may sign out at noon tomorrow with a note from home.  Representatives - you may have one friend sign out with you with a note from home.

 

Friday is our first Red Pride Friday. Fortunately it coincides with the spirit theme. So let's see tons of red in the hallway tomorrow, and don't forget to grab your spirit point!

 

SENIORS – pick up your homecoming shirt during lunch today in the library.

Math tutoring today will be with Mr. Thom.

All homecoming representatives will practice during sixth hour in the gym.  Report to class for attendance first and then report to the gym.

Don’t forget about the bonfire tonight at 7:00 p.m. Meet at the practice field on the north side of

the school.  If it is raining meet in the cafeteria.

 

Seniors – Yankee Candle fundraiser forms and money are due by Friday.  Please get them in ASAP!  Remember to also pay your class dues.  We are starting to narrow down trips and need to know how many people plan to go.  Don’t forget you must turn in song, flower and motto ideas by Friday too.

Thursday’s theme is Greek God and Goddess day. Spirit points are like gold. Golden Fleece, that is. So, adorn yourself in your school-appropriate Greek attire for Thursday, and help send your class on the spirit trip!

If you are interested in participating in one of the pep assembly games Friday afternoon, please

sign-up in the lobby during lunch this week.

 

Remember to claim your spirit point at lunch.  Points will be given until 12:10 p.m. each day this week.  Freshmen will be going to Mrs. Peterson’s room, sophomores to Ms. Morse’s room, juniors to Mr. Bongard’s room, and seniors to Mr. Prielipp’s room.  Afternoon CTC should stop and see

Mr. Thom in room 11 right before going to lunch to get their spirit point.  Earn spirit points for yourself and your class toward winning the annual spirit trip this coming spring!

Students that are dressed up need to go to the library during lunch for pictures.  

 

NHSers - we will have a meeting tomorrow morning at 7:40 in Ms. Bernier's room.  Please be on time and bring your planners.
