*STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS*

GENERAL

1.  Prom will be held at Timberwolf Lake Lodge on April 25th.  Doors will open at 7:00pm and music will start at 8:00pm.  Dance will end at 11:30.  Appetizers will be served.  Tickets will be $25 for singles and $40 for couples.  Following Prom will be After-Prom, also held at Timberwolf Lake Lodge until 4:00am.  Tickets will be $10 per person.  If you are going to After-Prom you need to get a packet from Shonta Turman.  The theme is “Red Carpet Affair.”  Please pay from Prom and After-Prom separately.  Tickets will be available today at lunch.  If your date for Prom is not a Lake City High School student you must sign them up in the office.  The sign-up sheet is on the counter. 

2.  If you didn’t get a coupon for Cadillac Tuxedo’s tux rentals from Jeremiah before break, you can go in there and mention Jeremiah Sullivan’s name and still receive $20.00 off your tux rental.

3.  Yearbooks are on sale until April 20th for $40.  If you fail to order one during this time period, the book will cost $45 in the fall due to limited availability.  You can pay $20 now and the remaining portion by May 15.  See a yearbook student if you have questions.

4.  North Star Driving School will be holding a segment two class in McBain on April 20, 22, and 24 from 5pm to 7pm.  Call 839-5331 to register.

5.  Attention all those who can sing, dance, perform or have another talent.  Senior Oscar Night is coming May 8th and the student council is looking for performers.  Please see Mrs. Richardson or Mrs. VanderBrook if you are interested.

6.  Seniors - You have a short meeting about the trip at lunch on Wednesday in Mr. Bongard’s room.  Short and Sweet.

7.  Attention Student Council:  There will be a student council meeting on Wednesday, April 15th at 7:40 am. 

8.  A big thank you to Kelsey Bartholomew and Becky Ahrens for taking time out of their lunch to pick up some papers that were thrown on the floor in the hallway!  Good job girls!

9.  Congratulations to the following CTC students who were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society this past Monday:  Matt McGiness, Alex Helsel, Fred West, Samantha Billington, Brandy Hoornstra, Erin Zayac, Michelle Flesher, Lisa Galloup, John Stanhope, and George Lash.

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

1.  Challenge of the Week - Share at least one heartfelt appreciation for a friend who has been by your side through thick and thin.

2.  Schedule requests for all students for next year are due to the office or Mrs. Richardson by the end of the day today.  If you do not turn one in by then, we will be picking your classes for you.  Extra copies are in the information center pockets outside of Mrs. Richardson’s office.  If you need to talk w/ Mrs. Richardson about your schedule, fill it out the best you can and write a note on the request form with what you want to talk about.  She will follow up w/ you later.  Please get these in ASAP!!!!

3.  Baker College of Cadillac will be hosting it’s 11th Annual Career Fair on Wednesday, April 22nd from 2 – 6 PM.  Seniors are strongly encouraged to attend.  There will be over 30 exhibitors.  There is no cost.  Bring your resume’ and “Dress for Success”.

4.  Summer Camps:  Mrs. Richardson has info available on summer camps at Ferris for 10th and 11th graders.  CTC will pay your way.  There are some great opportunities.  Info is in the pocket in the information centers.  Also, CTC has FREE summer camps available for current 9th graders in Computers, Mechanics, Electronics, Health, Welding, Metal Working, Floral Design and Culinary.   See Mrs. Richardson for information!

5.  Ferris College of Engineering Technology will be holding an Open House on Saturday, April 25th, from 9am – 1pm.  Pre-registration is required for this FREE event at www.ferris.edu/technology.  This is a good opportunity to learn about the programs in Engineering Tech and exciting career opportunities.

6.  There will be a meeting on Thursday during lunch at 12:15 in the Auditorium for everyone who signed up to be a part of a Be The Change Team at Challenge Day.  Head to the auditorium after you eat and come with ideas!

7.  If you are interested in going into Vet Tech or Veterinary Medicine, there is going to be a Pet Clinic in Lake City on April 26th and they are looking for volunteers for that day.  This would be great experience.  See Mrs. Richardson for more information!

There will be an Open Gym for volleyball this Sunday in the high school gym from 4-6pm.
