FROM THE PRINCIPAL    Concerning Friday afternoon activities - students may choose to participate in the Mini Challenge Day, classroom activities, or sign out and go home.  Any students choosing to sign out, must have a written note from a parent.  Students will not be allowed to call home to request permission to leave.  There will be no exceptions to this rule.

 

ALL STUDENTS – semester exams are scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week.  If you exempt from an exam, you must attend school unless your exam is the first one of the day.  You must have parent permission to be absent for the exam period and then sign in at the office and wait in the lobby until the bell rings.

 

STUDENTS – if you make the honor roll and would like a free ticket to a Piston’s game – see Mr. McGiness.

 

Congratulations to Adam Harness – our Student of the Week!

 

SENIORS – the senior trip sign-up sheet is in the office.

 

The Lake City Area Schools’ Health and Wellness Committee is looking for students interested in helping improve the health of the students, teachers, and community members of Lake City.  This committee will discuss lunch room food items, vending machine items, and special events that involve physical activity in our school and community.  If you would like to be a part of this committee please see Mrs. Peterson or Mr. Vasicek for an application.

 

Mock Rock entry forms are available from Mrs. Richardson.  Mock Rock is Saturday, February 6.  All entry forms are due to Mrs. Richardson by Wednesday, January 27.

 

Second semester schedules will be distributed today in class meetings.  Students will be dismissed at 3:00 to report to the following locations:  9th grade – north end of the gym, 10th grade – auditorium, 11th grade – south end of the gym, 12th grade – library.  Students are to stay in their class meetings until the bell rings at 3:20.

 

Caberfae Peaks Community Red Cards are available for $1.00 each.  Red cards offer discounts on lift tickets and ski or board rentals.  If you would like to purchase a red card see Ms. Gilson before school, during your lunch break, or after school.

9th grade boys basketball team plays home against Chip Hills – 4:15 p.m.

JV and varsity girls basketball teams plays at NMC – 6:00 p.m. – bus departs at 5:00 p.m.
