Chill Out week is next week with the following Spirit Days:
Monday – Climate Control Day – wear winter or summer outfits (they MUST be appropriate!)
Tuesday – Disney Day – wear anything Disney related
Wednesday – Color Day – 9th wear yellow, 10th wear green, 11th wear pink, 12th wear orange, staff wear blue.
Thursday – Ugly Sweater Day
Friday – Red, White and Black Day – show our Trojan pride!
There will be a pep assembly on Friday afternoon. Mock Rock will be Saturday, February 6 at 7:00 p.m. with a dance following. The theme for the dance is Mardi Gras. Cost will be $3.00 each for Mock Rock and $3.00 for the dance. If you are bringing someone to the dance that does not go to school here, you must sign them up in the office. Let’s have a great week and show our Lake City spirit.
The student council advertising committee will be meeting today at lunch in room 11 to make posters.
The pep assembly committee will be meeting tomorrow (Thursday) at lunch in room 11.
There are 37 seniors signed up for the senior trip. If your dues are paid and you have not officially signed up, stop at Mrs. Colecchio’s office. You must be signed up by Friday, January 29.
In Memory of Alec Ash bracelets will be available starting today. For those who have already donated, you can pick up your bracelet in the lobby at lunch and check your name off. All others can get a bracelet with a donation. All donations will be added to the Ash Family Benefit Fund.
The movie To Save a Life is now showing at the Cadillac 5 Theater. This movie was brought to our area by a group from Pine River Schools and many others in the community. It is highly recommended for all high school students. Call the theater for movie times and take a group to see it!
A skiing/snowboarding group is forming at Caberfae Peaks. The group will meet every Thursday from
5-9:00 p.m. – cost is $8.00. Board rentals are $8.00, skis $2.00, and helmets $3.00. Contact Kathy Kaczor at 231-942-1889 if you plan to attend or for more information.
A financial aid seminar will be held at the Missaukee District Library on Saturday, January 30 from
10-11:00 a.m. No registration needed. The presenter is Kevin Singer from Hope College.
COUNSELOR’S CORNER
JUNIOR/SOPHOMORE girls – this Thursday CTC is sponsoring a Careers for Women Conference in Cadillac. (This has now been opened up to 10th grade girls.) The program highlights non-traditional careers for women. Last year the student who went said it was great. Lunch is provided and it will be school excused. See Mrs. Richardson by the end of the day to sign up.
ATHLETICS
Volleyball players – if you have a flip flop order you need to get it to Coach Hinkston by Friday, January 29.
