STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Take driver education in a convertible with Mr. Yeomans at Baker College.  Class begins April 26.  Sign up forms are located in the wall pocket outside the office or see Mr. Yeomans at lunch.

 

Alec Ash’s burial will take place on Saturday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the cemetery north of Lake City on M-66 – the east side of the road.

 

The last day to buy a yearbook for $35 is TODAY!  Get your deposit to Mrs. Atkins or another yearbook student.  After tomorrow, the price will increase to $45.  If you fail to order a book this spring, the cost will be $50 in the fall.

 

Don’t miss the first Mr. Lake City Pageant tonight at 8:00 p.m. in the gym.  Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $4.00 per person.  You will need to bring coins to vote for your favorite contestant in the swimwear competition.

 

Effective April 23, high school students will no longer be able to charge lunch in the cafeteria.

 

You must turn in your after-prom contracts and money to Mrs. Phillips, Ms. Bernier, or Maelynn Gallop before 3:30 today in order to receive your t-shirt.

 

SENIORS – your Jostens order will be delivered today during lunch.  You must pay for your order before you pick it up.  Please do not leave cash in your locker - you may leave it in the office.  If you have any questions see Mrs. Hose.

 

SOPHOMORES – don’t forget about finding drivers for our can/bottle drive!!  Please let Mrs. Peterson or Mrs. Atkins know ASAP if you find someone to drive.  Remember the more people that help, the more money we earn.

 

FRESHMEN – your pizza orders are coming in today.  All orders must be picked up by 3:00 p.m.  You will not be able to take them on the bus and you will not be able to leave them at school over the weekend.  

 

SOPHOMORE/JUNIORS – there will be a meeting on Tuesday, April 13 at 9:30 a.m. in the auditorium regarding dual enrollment classes for the 2010-11 school year.  We will discuss how to qualify, the types of courses, and student responsibilities for taking courses.  If you are interested, sign up in the office.

 

SENIORS – some of you still have not picked up your Yankee Candle order.  You must take care of this before leaving school today. 

 

If you plan to take a guest to prom who is not a LCHS student, you must register that person with the high school office.  Your guest must be under the age of 21 and approved by the principal. 

 

Congratulations to Darren Ruhf – our Student of the Week.

 

Prom tickets are on sale during lunch.  If you attend afternoon CTC and are unable to purchase tickets at lunch, see Mrs. Phillips or Ms. Bernier before or after school.  Prom is scheduled for Saturday, April 24 from 8-11:30 p.m. at Fox Hill in Cadillac.  Cost is $25 per person, and tickets will include a small photo package, a jump drive with your printable photo, and your choice of approximately 20 other candid dance photos that you can download from the LifeTouch web site.

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

 

The Wexford-Missaukee Career Tech Center will be holding their annual open house from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday,

April 20.  Everyone is invited to check out their programs.  The cosmetology program will sponsor a fashion show at

5:00 p.m. in the Lake Superior Room.

 

SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS, AND SENIORS – Mid-Michigan Community College in Harrison is hosting their annual College Day on Friday, April 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  If you attend, bring back verification from Mid-Michigan and it will not count against your total absences.  See www.midmich.edu/collegeday for more information.

 

The list of scholarships on the website has been updated.  Look under “For Students.”  Seniors – be sure to check it out – there are still some good opportunities available.
