SENIORS - we will take a senior class photo on Friday, May 7 at 3:05 p.m. (right after the CTC bus returns). If the weather is nice we will take the picture if front of the school, if not – meet in the gym.
Congratulations to Troy Hutchinson for placing 7th at the CTC Heavy Equipment Skills competition.
The varsity club is selling Merritt Speedway tickets. Cost is $10.00 for a $15.00 ticket. See a varsity club member or stop by the high school office.
SENIORS – there is an open house sign-up list on the senior board. Please fill in the day, time, and location of your open house.
Effective April 23, high school students will no longer be able to charge lunch in the cafeteria.
COUNSELOR’S CORNER
DUAL ENROLLMENT – any tenth or eleventh grader interested in dual enrollment for next year must see Mrs. Richardson ASAP.
A sexual abuse support/recovery group for students ages 12-18 has been started in our area by Healing Private Wounds. It meets every Thursday at the Cadillac United Methodist Church from 6-8:00 p.m. All classes are confidential and free and led by trained facilitators and licensed counselors. There is a social skills development group for adolescents (ages 13-18) that meets at Life Skills in Cadillac on Tuesdays from 5-30-6:30 p.m. The group focuses on many topics related to socio-interpersonal skills (anger/stress management, self control, etc.) necessary for a more successful adolescence. The Hope College Pre-Professional Day, featuring Health Sciences, Nursing, Engineering, and Law, is scheduled for
May 19. Visit www.hope.edu/adminissions/visit to register for the day and for more information. Deadline is May 12.
JUNIORS – if you are interested in retaking the ACT you can pick up an information flyer from the wall pocket outside Mrs. Richardson’s office. Register at www.actstudent.org. The next date is in June and the registration deadline is
May 7. There are also test dates in September, October, and December this fall.
