STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Monday, April 18, 2011

The Lake City forensics team won regionals!  Every student placed and is going to State for forensics.  We had seven individuals or group champions on the team.  Great job team!

The senior class will be voting for Senior Oscar Night today at lunch, and after school in Mr. Thom's computer lab. There will also be an opportunity to vote tomorrow morning before school and again during lunch.

Congratulations to our Student of the Week – Samantha Wilton.

Baker College is offering Segment 1 drivers education classes beginning April 21. Registration forms are outside the office or see Mr. Yeomans at lunch to sign up.

Students will not be able to charge lunch in the cafeteria for the rest of this school year.  You may deposit money in your account or pay as you go.  Any student who has a charge will need to pay the amount that is owed.

The Kiwanis Honors Banquet is scheduled for Monday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Parent tickets are $5.00 each.  All other tickets are $9.00 each.  See Cindy Gilson in the high school

office to purchase your ticket.

COUNSELOR'S CORNER

Any student that is interested in dual enrollment for next year, please sign up in the office.  There will be a meeting on Tuesday, April 19 at 12:30 p.m. in the auditorium for information you need in order to dual enroll.

The Wexford-Missaukee Career Tech Center will be hosting their annual open house on Tuesday, April 19 from 9:00–2:30 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m.  There will be a cosmetology fashion show at 5:30 p.m. in the Lake Superior room.  Check out their 14 different programs.  There will be snacks and door prizes.  If you are interested in attending CTC in the future, it would be a very good idea to attend!

There will be a Get Set for College presentation for all juniors on Wednesday, April 20 - 4th hour in the auditorium.  This will provide information needed for your senior year for furthering your education in any way.  Go to your 4th hour class for attendance and then head to the auditorium.

If you are a junior or senior, interested in law enforcement, are physically fit, and have a real desire for police work, the American Legion offers a summer Student Trooper Academy that would be a great opportunity.  See Mrs. Richardson if you are interested.
