YAC-sters – if you are interested in attending the summer leadership conference, please see

Ms. Morse ASAP to let her know.  If Ms. Morse does not here from you by Friday at lunch, it will be assumed you are not going!  Thanks.

 

STUDENTS – many of you have unpaid lunch charges.  You must pay your charges by June 3.     

 

Exam exemption applications are available outside the office and due back tomorrow.  If you qualify for an exam exemption due to your ACT or PLAN test score, you do not need to fill out an  application but do need to stop in the office to request the exam exemption.  This is to be done before school or during lunch time.

 

STUDENTS - the library will be closing tomorrow. Please make sure you have all library books turned in and fines paid to the library by tomorrow.  Many of you have unpaid library fines and these must be paid before receiving final grades.

Tutoring today is with Mrs. VanderBrook.

 

Starting Tuesday, May 31, the weight room will be closed after school.

 

COUNSELOR'S CORNER

 

Staircase Youth Services has started a youth drop-in center.  It is open every Monday from 3-7p.m. behind the Cadillac First Church of the Nazarene in the ministry center (large grey building) on M-55 just going in to Cadillac.  It is for anyone ages 16-21 who is at risk or homeless.  It is free!  There is a free meal, lots of activities, games, life skill groups, and friends.  See Mrs. Richardson for more info.

 

The Huron-Manistee National Forest Service is filling 2 Youth Conservation Corps jobs in their Cadillac office this summer.  It is full time for 8 weeks.  Students 15-18 may apply.  Please see

Mrs. Richardson for an application.  Applications are due to the Cadillac office by tomorrow!

 

There is an opportunity to make up credits for classes that you haven't passed, in the core subject areas, during summer school.  It will be every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for three weeks starting June 7, and 3 hours per subject.  There is no cost!  If you are in need of making up core classes, see Mrs. Richardson ASAP to sign up.

 

ATHLETICS

 

There will be a meeting right after school Tuesday, May 31, for fall cheer.  The meeting will take place at the middle school with Mrs. Vokes. 

 

All track athletes meet in the elementary library at noon Tuesday, May 31, for a quick meeting.

 

Varsity baseball/softball @ Houghton Lake, dismissal time 2:30 p.m., bus departs at 2:45 p.m., game starts at 4:00 p.m.

JV baseball vs Houghton Lake, home, 4:30 p.m.

Varsity golf @ Manton, van departs at 3:30 p.m., match starts at 4:30 p.m.

 

There will be a meeting tomorrow, May 27, after school, for all boys interested in participating in basketball next year.

There will be a short meeting during lunch on Tuesday, May 31, for all girls interested in participating in volleyball next year.  Eat quickly and then meet in the auditorium at 12:10.
