STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Monday, September 10, 2012

Seniors - great job working on the float Saturday!   We will put finishing touches on it Wednesday right after school.

The senior class will be selling “Go Trojans!” bracelets in the lobby at lunch this week.  Support LCHS and the class of 2013 by purchasing a bracelet.  They are only $1 and they come in a variety of colors!  Seniors, if you would like to sell bracelets at lunch, please see Ms. Morse.  There will be a sign-up sheet outside her room.  Also, we need 50/50 sellers and bracelet sellers for the game Friday night.  Thank you!

Lifetouch school pictures will take place on Wednesday, September 19.

The homecoming dance is scheduled for Saturday, September 15 from 8-11:15 p.m.  Anyone wishing to bring a visitor must register their guest in the office by 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 13.  Guests must be a high school student under 20 years of age.  Sign up before school, after school, or during lunch –not during class time.

So, you dressed–up for Hippie day!  How do you get your well-deserved spirit points?  You can claim your spirit point at lunch until 12:10 each day this week.  Freshmen will be going to Ms. Morse’s room, sophomores to Mr. Bongard’s room, juniors to Mrs. Borton’s room, and seniors to Mr. Prielipp’s room.  Go check-in before getting your lunch, because at 10 minutes after 12 they stop giving points.  Afternoon CTC should stop and see Mr. Thom in room 18 right before going to lunch to get their spirit point.  Earn Spirit Points for yourself and your class toward winning the annual spirit trip this coming spring!

The dress-up theme for Tuesday is “Game Day”, so come to school dressed to play and snag your spirit point.

Students, please remember the dress code that is stated in the handbook.  There are to be no bandanas, halter/tank tops, midriff shirts, sheer or revealing clothing, miniskirts, shorts that are shorter than fingertip length, and no clothing promoting drugs, smoking, drinking, profanities, obscenities, or illegal activities.

Students interested in participating in the pep assembly activities this Friday may sign up on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Student council members will have a table set up in the lobby during lunch.

There will be an assembly first hour Wednesday, September 12, to introduce our 2012 homecoming candidates for king and queen.  All students are to report to their first hour class for attendance.  Teachers will then escort their classes to the gym.  Morning CTC students are to report directly to the gym when the bell rings.  Afternoon CTC students will vote with Mr. Thom in room 16 (Mr. Prielipp’s room) immediately after the assembly and then board the CTC bus.  All other voting for king and queen will take place during 5th hour on Wednesday.

Don’t’ forget about the homecoming bonfire Wednesday, September 12 at 6:30 p.m.   Meet on the practice field behind the high school (across from Foster’s).  If there is inclement weather, meet in the cafeteria.

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

It is very important, especially for SENIORS, to pay attention to announcements to know what is going on.  Seniors, check out the posters in the library hall for testing, scholarship, and college information, and to the announcements and website for scholarship info that will be coming starting in November.  For Juniors and Seniors – many colleges have visits coming up over the next month.  Pay attention to the dates and times in the announcements and sign up in the office.

Quote of the day - “Challenge yourself every day to do better and be better. Remember, growth starts with a decision to move beyond your present circumstances.”  ~ Robert Tew

We are looking for helpers for the Kiwanis annual Coats for Kids dinner.  It will be held on Thursday, September 20.  We need some students to help set up the cafeteria, help serve and bus during the dinner, and help take down after.  You can sign up for a shift or for the whole time.  Please sign up in Mrs. Richardson’s office.

Saginaw Valley will be here to visit Monday, September 17.  If you would like to meet with them please sign up in the office.
