Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Samantha Russell.

 

The Snowcoming dance is tomorrow from 8-11:15 p.m.  Cost is $5 per person and it is semi-formal. 

 

Don’t forget to get your spirit point at the beginning of lunch! Seniors go to Mrs. Atkins, juniors will go to Mrs. Baron, sophomores to Ms. Bernier, and freshmen to Mrs. Clous.

 

Seniors – your group picture is next Wednesday.  Please wear red shirts.

 

There will be a quick PowderTuff coaches meeting at lunch today in Ms. Phil’s room.  Check in for spirit points, grab lunch, and come down to revise our Saturday practice schedule.

 

This is the last chance to purchase the 2016 yearbook; the deadline is March 4.  The cost is $40 payable to LC Yearbook.  The books will arrive in May.  We will not order any additional books, so order yours today.  You may pay a deposit of $20 to place and order, and pay the balance of $20 when the books arrive.  See Mrs. Atkins for any questions.

 

Do the boys have the stuff to play PowderTUFF volleyball?  Come to the 1st Annual PowderTuff Volleyball Tournament tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. and find out!  Only $3 admission with concessions, a bake sale and 50/50 raffle available.

 

It is time to show off your talent at the Lake City Schools Variety Show.  Students (K-12) and staff are invited to participate.  You can sing, dance, play instruments, tell jokes, do a skit, or showcase another talent you may have. Auditions are March 24 from 3:30-5:30 in the auditorium or by appointment.  Call or see Ms. Porter at the Middle School at 839-7163.  Dress Rehearsal will be Friday, April 15 at 5:30 and Showtime is on Saturday, April 16 at 6:00.

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER                                                                                                               

The FAFSA deadline is March 1st!  Be sure to be working on it and get it submitted before the first. See Mrs. Richardson if you need information about filling it out. This is the number one thing to do for financial aid and federal and state scholarships!

There will be a drawing for students who fill out the FAFSA and bring in proof!  Prizes will be announced later this week.  Print something from your FSA account showing that your FAFSA has been completed and bring it in to Mrs. Richardson to be entered into a drawing!  The deadline to turn in proof and be entered will be Wednesday, March 2nd!

The ZLP4 and Gary McGiness Memorial Scholarship applications are due to Mrs. Richardson by March 1st.

 

ATHLETICS

 

JV/Varsity Girls Basketball vs Beal City, home, game starts at 6:00 p.m.

 

Tonight is Parents Night for the girls varsity basketball and cheer team. Please see Mrs. Vokes with any questions.

 

There will be open softball at the middle school Saturday, February 27 and Saturday, March 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
