Lake City High School’s First Annual Super Awesome Fun Night is this Friday from 6-11:00 p.m.  There will be games, movies, video games, cooking, art projects, basketball, volleyball, snacks, and hanging out.  The cost is $2.00 and proceeds will go to the Challenge Day fund for next year.  Come join everyone for a great time!

 

There will be a prom/homecoming dress sale after school on Friday until 6:00 p.m. in room 11.  If you have a dress you would like to donate to help raise money for Challenge Day next year, bring it to Mrs. Richardson by Friday.  Dresses will be sold for $5 to $10 so come check them out and get a dress at a very reasonable cost.  Other items will be given away.

 

Government and Econ students attending the Governor’s Breakfast on March 24 – you need to turn in your permission slip to Ms. Gilson by March 23.  Remember to dress appropriately – no jeans or t-shirts.    The bus will leave the school at 7:25 a.m.  MORNING CTC students attending the breakfast will be dropped off

JUNIORS – applications for the Alexander Hamilton Citizenship Achievement Award are available at www.hamiltonfriends.org.  This is a $500 cash award that also awards paid leadership training, and college prep assistance.  It is for juniors who are college bound, have a strong record of community services, show strong commitment to academic studies, are a self-starter, show passion and commitment to their interests, and show financial and/or personal need.  Applications are due by April 16.  Information is posted on the school website.

 

 

ATHLETICS

 

Spring practices begin today.  Baseball – 3:30 at the middle school, softball – 3:30 at the high school, golf – 3:30 in Mr. Bongard’s room, and track – 5:00 at high school.

 

A sports nutritionist will be here this Thursday, March 18 at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium.  All athletes and parents are encouraged to attend.  Topics will range from “Safely Gaining & Losing Weight” to “What to Eat For Pre-game Meals.”  Immediately after this program - sports camp information will be available in the gym.

GO TO team – if you are working the elementary carnival tonight, be in the gym by 5:30 p.m.  You will be done by 8:30 p.m.

 

MORNING CTC students attending the Governor’s Breakfast on March 24 will be dropped off at CTC after the breakfast.  You will not be able to drive.

Forensics Results

This past weekend the Forensics team traveled to Frankenmuth high school to compete in the Frankenmuth Invite.  Tournament finalists for Lake City include Jake Vanduinen with a first place in dramatic interpretation, Ryan King and Sam Snyder with a fourth place in duo, and the multiple of Maelynn Gallop, Ethan Hinkston, Kathy Hanson, Chelsie Crane, Megan Eising, Brooke Rosekrans, and Jessica Miller with a third place.  The team also walked away with it's first overall trophy… First place for medium schools!

Great Job and congratulations all who competed!
