TODAY – court members are dismissed at noon with a note from home.  You must sign out.  Band members are dismissed at 1:40.  All other students in the parade are dismissed at 1:55.  Students will stay in 6th hour until dismissed by a bell (approximately 2:25) to watch the parade.  Students will go directly to the gym after the parade.

Sophomores - eat lunch then go to Mr. Thom’s room to vote online today for your homecoming reps.

 

SOPHOMORES – you will meet with the Jostens representative tomorrow during 2nd hour regarding class ring orders.  Go to 2nd hour for attendance and then report to the auditorium.

 

Happy first day of spirit week! Let’s talk spirit points. Each day your class can get up to 100 spirit points, including today, if 100% of your class wore their jammies to school. If you did, check in at the beginning of lunch as follows: seniors will go to Mrs. Baron in the library, juniors to Ms. Bernier, sophomores to Mr. Bongard, and freshmen see Ms. Morse outside the art room. If your class has the most spirit points on April 1, the members of your class with the most points will go on an all-expense paid trip to Grand Rapids with the student council. Don’t forget to dress for “Buck” hunting tomorrow!

School pictures are today!  Students will be dismissed in small groups throughout the morning.  Afternoon CTC students make sure you have your picture taken before you get on the bus.

 

Freshmen - we have changed the location of our float building meetings to the bus garage. There are information sheets in Mrs. Atkins’ room listing the dates, times, and a map that will help you locate the bus garage.  Please take a look at the list of supplies needed for the float on the freshman bulletin board in the high school hallway and bring any of those items that you can.  Check with your freshman class officers if you have any questions.

 

Spirit week starts Monday, with the first day being Pajama day.  Dress appropriately.

 

Student council - meet in Mrs. VanderBrook's room today at lunch. The student council is in need of chaperones for the dance and bonfire.  See Mrs. VanderBrook if your parent is willing to chaperone.

 

Thank you to all the students who showed interest in being the school mascot.  The school mascot was chosen by the student council and will be notified soon.  There will be upcoming opportunities for others to look forward to being the school mascot.

 

Taelee Winkleman is selling candy bars for $1 and proceeds will go towards funding Camp Rotary.  See Taelee before or after school, or during lunch if you would like to purchase one!

Juniors and seniors - Cadillac High School will be holding their annual College Night on Wednesday, October 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the auxiliary gym.  There will be many college representatives available to hand out information and answer questions.

 

The CTC Agriscience and Natural Resources class will be offering an evening curriculum for students in grades 7–10 at CTC.  It will be held on Thursday evenings from 6–8 p.m.  The class will start on Thursday, October 23 and run through Thursday, December 18.  Topics covered will include student leadership in Future Farmers of America, current trends in agriculture, farm safety, and natural resources.  Transportation will be the student’s responsibility.  The class is limited to the first 20 students.  If you are interested, see Mrs. Richardson ASAP.

 

All previous YAC members - the first meeting for the school year will be Tuesday morning,

September 23 at 7:30 a.m. in the foods room.  There are new advisors this year and Mrs. Richardson will help get things going.  If you cannot make it, please see Mrs. Richardson.

Class meetings will take place at the beginning of 5th hour today after attendance is taken.  Teachers will release freshmen to the north side of the gym, sophomores to the auditorium, juniors to the south side of the gym, and seniors to the library. 

 

Science tutoring is scheduled for tomorrow with Mrs. Thom from 3:20 to 4:00 p.m.

 

The student council is looking for someone to be the Trojan mascot.  If interested see Mr. Thom or

Mrs. VanderBrook

 

Census/internet forms will be handed out at the end of the day to students who have not returned their forms.  If this form is not returned you will not be allowed on the internet.

Teacher Academy students – please remember to turn in your time sheets to the office each week.  When filling them out make sure you have date, time, teacher’s signature, and a detailed description under “tasks worked on each day.”  Our weekly meetings will be held on Thursdays at lunch in

Mrs. Richardson’s office.

Athletic pictures for JV/Varsity volleyball will be taken today in the gym.  Athletes are to change after school and get to the appropriate location asap.  If you have questions, see Ms. Gilson.
