Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Kyle Justa.

 

SENIORS – if you plan to go on the senior trip, your dues must be paid today to Bradley Atkins!

 

Baker College is offering driver training classes starting Thursday, April 16.  Schedules will be available in the wall pocket outside the office.

 

There is going to be a Lake City variety show for K-12 students and staff.  School appropriate acts should be three minutes in length.  The show will be Saturday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m.  If you are interested in participating there is a sign-up sheet in the high school office.  Help is also needed for backstage. If you would like to be part of the show but don’t want to perform on stage, or have any questions, please contact Ms. Porter at 839-7163.

 

Spring break begins tomorrow.  Classes will resume Monday, April 13.

The Missaukee County Sheriff’s Office is holding an ORV safety class on Saturday, April 25 at the EMS building from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For more information call 839-4338.

SENIORS – if you are interested in ordering a senior shirt they are $9 for a short sleeve and $12 for a long sleeve.  You must pay for your shirt before the order is sent.  Deadline for senior shirt orders and class dues is Thursday, April 2.  If you are planning on going on the senior trip, you need to pay your dues.  If you are not sure how much you owe, get with Bradley Atkins or your advisors.

 

Juniors - Yankee Candle orders will be here next week.  Your advisors will let you know Monday what day that is so you can make some arrangements to get them home and delivered.

The ASVAB test will be given at CTC on Tuesday, March 24. Students interested in taking it may do so at no charge.  You will ride the CTC bus over, stay all day, and ride the bus back.  The ASVAB test is a series of 8 short tests that help you identify your skills in a variety of areas.  You then get a career exploration summary of your strengths to help make your career decisions.  Sign up in the office by the end of the day Friday, March 20 to take the test.  You will be responsible for getting the work you miss ahead of time

3 on 3 Basketball Tournament Opportunities There are three different "3 on 3" tournaments available for basketball enthusiasts:

1. 10th Annual Reed City 3 on 3 Tournament held on Saturday, March 21

2. Return of the Evart Slam & Jam-3 on 3 Tournament held on Saturday, March 28

3. NMC 3 on 3 Tournament is Saturday, April 18

The Missaukee Conservation Club is holding a free hunter safety course.  The class is open to all future hunters or anyone looking to learn more about hunting safety.  The class times are Friday, March 20 from 6-9:00 p.m., Saturday, March 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. After the students pass the written and hands-on test they will receive their hunter safety certificate.  The class has a strict limit of 35 students and is filled on a first come first serve basis.  If you are interested in joining this class or registering for a future class please contact Steve at 231-429-0886 or Monie at 231-920-0209, or you can email the club at MissaukeeCC@gmail.com.

Class dues are due Thursday, April 2, no exceptions!  Here’s the information you’ve all been waiting for - pending approval, the senior trip will be to…Mackinac Island!   Remember, you cannot go on the senior trip unless you pay your dues. 

 

The Mr. Lake City competition is scheduled for this Saturday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the

high school gym.  The cost is $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for students, and $13.00 for a family. 

Please come to this fun event and help support after prom. 

 

Science tutoring is scheduled today after school in Mrs. Clous’ classroom.

The Missaukee Conservation Club is holding a free hunter safety course.  The class is open to all future hunters or anyone looking to learn more about hunting safety.  The class times are Friday, March 20 from 6-9:00 p.m., Saturday, March 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. After the students pass the written and hands-on test they will receive their hunter safety certificate.  The class has a strict limit of 35 students and is filled on a first come first serve basis.  If you are interested in joining this class or registering for a future class please contact Steve at 231-429-0886 or Monie at 231-920-0209, or you can email the club at MissaukeeCC@gmail.com.

Practice for spring sports begins today. Softball is 3:30-5 at the high school, track is 5-6:30 at the high school, baseball 5-6:30 at the middle school, and golf 4:30-6:00 in the band room. Freshmen and sophomore students taking the NWEA test during test fest - please remember to bring a book to read and/or homework to work on between NWEA tests.  It will be a very long day if you finish the tests and have nothing to do in between each of the tests.  The computers will be off limits in between test sessions. Thank you!
