Missaukee Paddle Sports invites students to join their "Let's Go Paddling" pass program for a summer of fun on Lake Missaukee.  Each pass includes unlimited boat rental on Lake Missaukee     7-days a week, throughout the season, based on availability.  The cost is $30 per pass and can be purchased through Mr. McGiness or by contacting Missaukee Paddle Sports at 839-8265.  Information flyers are in the box outside of the high school office.

 

All student council members need to be in the gym at 3:30 p.m. today for Senior Oscar Night

set-up.  If you cannot make it, you need to let Mrs. VanderBrook know.

All student council members need to be in the gym at 3:30 p.m. on Friday for Senior Oscar Night

set-up.  If you cannot make it, you need to let Mrs. VanderBrook know.

 

Get out the prom dresses and shiny shoes.  Get all dressed up and join the seniors in a night of fun and entertainment.  Senior Oscar night is Friday at 7:00 p.m.  All seniors get in free!  All others the admission is only $3.00. 

 

All Senior Oscar Night performers will need their music and to do a sound check today.  All presenters and performers will be meeting Friday at the beginning of 6th hour to go over the details of the program.

 

Any student interested in being on, or those students who are already on, the Health and Wellness Committee or the Reproductive Health Committee please meet in Mrs. Peterson's room at

12:20 p.m. today at lunch.

If you are a junior or senior, interested in law enforcement, are physically fit, and have a real desire for police work, the American Legion offers a summer Student Trooper Academy that would be a great opportunity.  See Mrs. Richardson if you are interested.

The Lake City forensics team won regionals!  Every student placed and is going to State for forensics.  We had seven individuals or group champions on the team.  Great job team!

 

The senior class will be voting for Senior Oscar Night today at lunch, and after school in Mr. Thom's computer lab. There will also be an opportunity to vote tomorrow morning before school and again during lunch.

The Wexford-Missaukee Career Tech Center will be hosting their annual open house on Tuesday, April 19, from 9 – 2:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.  There will be a cosmetology fashion show at 5:30 p.m. in the Lake Superior room.  Check out their 14 different programs.  There will be snacks and door prizes.  If you are interested in attending CTC in the future, it would be a very good idea to attend!

There is an important prom committee meeting today at lunch in Mrs. Atkin's room. 

 

Junior class officers have a meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) at lunch in Mrs. Peterson's room to plan

what will be said at the board meeting on Wednesday night.  Please plan on being there.

 

With the school year almost over, effective April 15, 2011students will not be able to charge lunch in the cafeteria for the rest of this school year.  You can deposit money in your account or pay as you go.  You will need to have money to eat lunch.  Any student who has a charge will need to pay the amount that is owed.

If you are planning on attending after-prom, please pick up a contract as soon as possible from Erin Swanson, Jessica Miller or Mrs. Peterson.  The cost is $10 and may be paid when you pick up or drop off your contract. After-prom will be at the high school and there are lots of fun activities planned. There will be an inflatable obstacle course, bungee run, and jousting ring as well as sumo wrestling, Wii Guitar Hero and Just Dance and Minute to Win It competitions and more surprises. Everyone will go home with a t-shirt and prizes. The last day to sign up is Wednesday, April 13.  All money and contracts are due back no later than Friday, April 15.

No contracts will be accepted the day of prom.

Attention all senior eligible to attend the spirit trip and student council members - this year's spirit trip is heading to Craig's Cruisers and a Whitecaps game on Monday, May 23.  Please see Mr. Thom for a permission slips.  Permission slips are due by Wednesday, Aril 13.  No late forms will be accepted.

 

The Kiwanis Honors Banquet is scheduled for Monday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Parent tickets are $5.00 each.  All other tickets are $9.00 each.  See Cindy Gilson in the high school

office to purchase your ticket.

 

SENIORS – graduation announcements will be held in the office until you are able to pick them up. 

You must pay before you take them.  Jostens will no longer accept checks – you must pay with cash

or a money order.  See Ms. Gilson if you have any questions.

 

"Dancing Around the World" Prom tickets will be on sale today.  Price is $25 per person, which includes a picture package.  You must pay to receive your "passport" and picture package information will be available.

A representative from Lake Superior State University will be here tomorrow (Wednesday) at 9:30 a.m. 

If you are interested in meeting with him, sign up in the office.

 

If you are a junior or senior, interested in law enforcement, are physically fit, and have a real desire for Police work, the American Legion offers a summer Student Trooper Academy that would be a great opportunity.
