Students – as you go through the lunch line, the food service department is asking that you use the hand sanitizer located at each kitchen entry door.

 

Any student who would like to purchase a football play-off t-shirt or sweatshirt see Mr. Peterson or Ms. Gilson.   Cost is $10.00 for t-shirt or $25.00 for a sweatshirt.  If we don’t have the size you need, we will place an order. All orders must be placed by noon TODAY.  YOU MUST PAY BEFORE WE PLACE THE ORDER. 

 

Results of the 9th grade class elections are as follows:  President – Kyler Root, Vice-president – James Hollars, Treasurer – Ryan Vincent.  Due to a tie for the office of secretary, a run-off election between Megan Martin and Radha Patel is scheduled for Tuesday during English classes.  The 9th grade student council reps are: Troy Flint, James Hollars, Chris Houghton, and Lena Pickler.

 

STUDENT COUNCIL EXECUTIVE BOARD – there will be a meeting during lunch on Tuesday, October 27 in Mrs. VanderBrook’s room.

 

STUDENT COUNCIL – there will be a meeting Thursday, October 29 during lunch in room #11.

 

SOPHOMORES – pie orders and money are due to Mrs. Atkins TODAY.  If you forgot your order, bring it in tomorrow at the latest.  We need to call the order in by Wednesday.

There will be a benefit for Diamond Ostrander at the Eagle’s Club on M-55 tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.   There will be a Pie in the Face contest featuring some of our teachers as targets!  Clean out your piggy banks – you won’t want to miss this opportunity!  (Diamond will be released from the hospital on October 22.  She still has a long road of recovery ahead of her and is still not able to walk on her own.)

 

SENIORS – your Yankee Candle orders are due today.  Mrs. Getty will be in the lobby during lunch to collect your forms.  You may also drop them off in the Lower Elementary office.

SENIORS – this Friday, October 16, is Senior Day.  All seniors are to report to their first hour class for attendance.  You will be dismissed by an intercom announcement for a 15 minute class meeting in the auditorium.  After the class meeting you will return to class.  Then, in groups of ten, you will be called back to the auditorium to place your Jostens order, fill out forms, vote on some class items, and get your “Quick Shot.”  Quick Shot is a head and shoulders picture taken for the composite, and all seniors must have one.  If you have questions please see Mrs. Pedlar or Mrs. Hose.

 

FRESHMEN – you are needed to sell 50/50 tickets at this week’s JV football game.  This is an easy way to make money.  See Ms. Morse or Mrs. McNalley.  Also – dues, dues, dues!

STUDENTS – too many of you have been ignoring the dress code and are wearing inappropriate clothing.   Discussion about this issue has not changed your clothing choices. If you wear clothing that violates the dress code and is inappropriate for school – you will receive a detention.

 

ALL STUDENTS – the food service department has noticed that too many of you are not cleaning up after yourselves during lunch.  You MUST throw your plates, napkins, and milk cartons away.  Do not leave your milk cartons on the outside window ledge.  Look for the large grey wastebaskets strategically placed around the cafeteria.  You are to place your garbage in these wastebaskets.  ALSO – some of you are putting cafeteria food in your pockets before paying for it – do not do this.  Staff may think you are trying to steal it.

 

SENIORS – your dues must be paid by December 18 to be eligible for the senior trip.  Please pay dues to

STUDENTS – too many of you have been ignoring the dress code and are wearing inappropriate clothing.   Discussion about this issue has not changed your clothing choices. So, beginning today, if you wear clothing that violates the dress code and is inappropriate for school – you will receive a detention.

 

SENIORS – your dues must be paid by December 18 to be eligible for the senior trip.  Please pay dues to

Mrs. Richardson in the Lower Elementary office.

 

JUNIORS – pizza orders are due today!  Be sure to get your orders and money to Ms. Bernier or Mrs. Phillips today.  Thanks for working hard to make your junior prom special.

 

YAC meeting Thursday morning in Ms. Morse’s room.  Please be there by 7:50 a.m. at the latest.  Thanks!

 

SOPHOMORES – our Gordon Food Service pie fundraiser is now underway.  Sell until October 26th!  Money needs to be collected when you order.  If you were not at the class meeting on Monday please stop and get a form from Mrs. Peterson.  Don’t forget to pay your dues asap!

 

FRESHMAN interested in joining the Go To Team can pick up an application from Mrs. Richardson.  They are due to Mrs. Richardson by the end of the day on Friday.

 

CURRENT GO TO TEAM members – there will be a meeting today during 7th hour in the auditorium.  This is changed from room 11.  Go to your 7th hour class for attendance and then go the auditorium.  Remember, you are responsible for any work that you miss.

 

10th and 11th graders – if you didn’t sign up for the PSAT and still want to, see Mrs. Richardson.  The test will be given on Wednesday, October 14.

 

SOPHOMORES – ticket takers are needed for this Friday’s football game.  See Mrs. Peterson or Mrs. Atkins if you can help.

 

SOPHOMORES – Jostens will be here on Wednesday, October 7 during lunch to take your class ring order.  You must have a $50.00 deposit and your completed order form. 

 

JUNIORS AND SENIORS – the following colleges will be here this week:  Ferris State University on October 6, Olivet College on October 7, and Lake Superior State University on October 8.  During the week of October 12, the following school reps will visit:  Grand Valley on October 14, Saginaw Valley and Michigan Tech on October 15, Northern Michigan University and Mid-Michigan on October 16.  Sign up in the high school office if you are interested in meeting with any of these reps.

SOPHOMORES – there will be a short class meeting today at 3:05 p.m. in the auditorium.  When dismissed by your teacher – go directly to the auditorium.

All 10th and 11th grade students interested in taking the PSAT need to sign up in the office today.  You do not have to pay today – so get signed up! The test will be given in the auditorium on the morning of Wednesday, October 14.  There is a cost of $14 for the test.  Give payment to Ms Gilson as soon as possible - checks need to be made out to LCHS. See Mrs. Richardson if you have any questions.
