Sign up for homecoming pep assembly games is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, October 1 and 2 during lunch in the lobby.

 

There will be a meeting for all homecoming class representatives 2nd hour on Monday, September 30 in

Mrs. VanderBrook’s room.  Reps are to report to class for attendance and then go directly to

Mrs. VanderBrook’s room.

 

The homecoming dance is scheduled for Saturday, October 5 from 8-11:15 p.m.  Anyone wishing to bring a visitor must register their guest.  The registration form will be in the office beginning Monday, September 30.

All guests must be registered by 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, and must be a high school student under 20 years of age.  Sign up before school, after school, or during lunch - not during class time.

 

ALL STUDENTS – regarding dress up days.  We want you to have a great time with this – but remember the dress code.  There are to be no bandanas, halter/tank tops, midriff shirts, sheer or revealing clothing, miniskirts, shorts that are shorter than fingertip length, and no clothing promoting drugs, smoking, drinking, profanities, obscenities, or illegal activities.

SENIORS – your pizza kit orders go in tonight and must be turned in to Mr. Bongard before you leave today.

The PSAT, Preliminary SAT, and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test will be offered at our school the morning of Wednesday, October 16 in the auditorium.  If taken as a junior, it could qualify you for a National Merit Scholarship.  The cost is $15 to be paid by the day of the test to Ms. Gilson.  Make checks payable to LCHS.  Sign up in the office or see Mrs. Richardson if you have any questions.

Cadillac High School will be hosting their annual College Night on Thursday, October 10 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the high school auxiliary gymnasium.  Many college representatives will be available to provide information and talk to prospective students.  This is a great opportunity for juniors and seniors.

 

If you have volunteered or taken part in community service, you could be eligible for a 2014 Prudential Spirit of Community Award.  Applications are online at hhtp://spirit.prudential.com or www.nassp.org/spirit.  Once the form is completed it needs to be submitted to Mrs. Richardson by Tuesday, November 5, 2013.

Baker College is offering driver education classes. Drive a Mustang, Firebird or Camaro for your driver training experience. Registration forms are outside the office or see Mr. Yeomans during lunch to sign up.  Classes start Tuesday, October 8.

 

Math tutoring is scheduled for today in Mr. Bongard’s room.

 

School pictures will be taken tomorrow morning.  Students will be dismissed in small groups throughout the morning.  Afternoon CTC students make sure you have your pictures taken before you get off the bus.

After-school tutoring starts this week!  There is a session for every core subject.  A teacher from each subject area will be supervising the tutoring sessions on the following days: Mondays – Social Studies, Tuesdays – English, Wednesdays – Science, and Thursdays – Math.   See your core teachers for a schedule.  This is a great opportunity to get some extra help in your classes or just get homework done.

After-school tutoring starts this week!  There is a session for every core subject.  A teacher from each subject area will be supervising the tutoring sessions on the following days: Mondays – Social Studies, Tuesdays – English, Wednesdays – Science, and Thursdays – Math.   See your core teachers for a schedule.  This is a great opportunity to get some extra help in your classes or just get homework done.

 

Cadillac High School will be hosting their annual College Night on Thursday, October 10 from

6:30-8:30 p.m. in the high school auxiliary gymnasium.  Many college reps will be available to provide information and talk to prospective students.  This is a great opportunity for juniors and seniors.

 

ATHLETICS

 

Athletes will be selling Bear Claw Bags through Friday, September 27.  Athletes - all order forms and money must be turned in to Ms. Gilson by September 27.  See Ms. Gilson if you have questions.  This is an athletic booster fundraiser and all money raised benefits the LCASS athletic programs.

Baker College is offering driver education classes. Drive a Mustang, Firebird or Camaro for your driver training experience. Registration forms are outside the office or see Mr. Yeomans during lunch to sign up.  Classes start Tuesday, October 8.

 

Seniors - you have until Thursday, September 19 to sell pizza kits and cookie dough.  Try to collect as much money as you can when you sell pizza kits.  Please remember your forms and money need to be in to Mr. Bongard NO LATER than Friday, September 27. 

 

Congratulations to the Lake City Equestrian Team members for becoming district champions over the weekend.  They will be traveling to Ludington to compete at regionals September 28 and 29.  Please wish them good luck.

ALL STUDENTS – class meetings have been scheduled for Wednesday, September 18 during 5th

hour (12:35-1:00 p.m.) to discuss homecoming.  Students will report to class for attendance then report to the following areas: 12th grade – library, 11th grade – south end of gym, 10th grade – auditorium, 9th grade, north end of gym.
