Freshmen - you should be busy selling your Christmas wreaths.  Orders and money are due NEXT WEEK.  Also, you need to start paying your class dues!  Not many have done that yet, $5 this year.

 

If you are sporting your RED and BLACK today, check in with your normal teacher the first 10 minutes of lunch for your spirit point.

 

There is no school for students on Monday, November 2 due to staff professional development.

 

Biology tutoring is scheduled today after school with Mrs. Clous.

Seniors - remember to pay your class dues!  $20 for senior year.  All class dues must be paid in full if you are planning on going on the class trip.  Money can be turned in to Mrs. Clous or Mr. Bongard.

Today is the annual Dig Pink volleyball game. The student council would like to support the cause, and our volleyball teams, by offering Spirit Points to anyone wearing pink today. Check in noon to 12:10 with the usual advisors for points.

YAC – finger and toes boxes should be out today.  If you do not have the paper that goes on the front of yours, please find Olivia Emond at lunch and she will give you one.

Lake City Middle School Bulletin for Wednesday, October 21, 2015 ...

Boys Basketball There will be a sign-in sheet in the office for 7th and 8th grade boys basketball. Come sign up at your lunch time if you are interested in trying out for the team. Tryouts will be held Monday, October 26th and Tuesday October, 27th. Reminder to all students who plan on playing a winter sport; you must have a physical before you may participate.


Trash Bags If you have Bear Claw trash bag orders, please turn them into the office asap.


6th grade Basketball Any 6th grade girl interested in playing in the travel league basketball program needs to get a form in the office. Forms are due back to Mrs. Bisballe on Friday, October 30th.


Pop Can Drive The Problem Solving Class will be putting on a Pop Can Drive starting now and running until November 4th. All proceeds for this drive will go to the Wexford and Missaukee Humane Societies. You may drop your pop cans off to your advisory teacher in the morning to be picked up and counted. The Advisory class with the most pop cans will receive popcorn.


Haunted Mansion Miller's Corners is hosting their 3rd Annual Haunted Mansion Fundraiser for Camp Rotary. If you missed this weekend you can still catch the October 23rd showing from 8pm until 11pm. There will be a hayride, plus food and refreshments will be available. All proceeds go to Lake City Area Schools.


6th Annual Boy Scout Haunted House The Boy Scouts will be hosting their 6th Annual Haunted House. This event will be held October 23rd , 24th and 30th from 6:30-9:30 at the Missaukee Conservation Club. The cost will be $5 per person with discounts available to those who come dressed in costume, in their boy scout uniform or with their boy scout card. See the flyers in the hallway for more information.


Science Any 8th grade student that would like their atom motel, needs to get them from Mrs. Bisballe by Friday.


Sports The Cross Country team ran in their Highland Conference meet last night and AJ Comp earned a 1st place standing in the conference! Nice job AJ and the rest of the runners! Come out tonight and support your Middle School football team as they take on the Marion Eagles. Game time is at 5:30 and is home.

Seniors – just a reminder, tomorrow you will not be coming to school due to PSAT testing.  You may still attend CTC if you wish.

NMC is hosting their college open house from 6-8 p.m. tonight in the Hagerty Center at the Great Lakes Campus.  Over 50 colleges will be present to discuss their academic programs, financial aid information and scholarship opportunities!  For more information contact NMC at 855 FIND-NMC.

 

The annual MY LEAD conference is starting to accept nominations for current 10th grade students

to attend the MY LEAD conference in the spring.  It is a great leadership opportunity.  If you want to hear about what a great experience it is, talk to Nick Trolz or Melanie Henneman.  See

Mrs. Richardson if you are interested.  The cost of up to two students can be covered and up

to four may attend.

Seniors – next Wednesday, October 14 you will not be coming to school due to PSAT testing.  Please use this day to set up a college visit, do a job shadow, meet with a recruiter, research postsecondary training/education, fill out applications (job or college), search for scholarships, work on essays, or make phone calls to schools or employers. The CTC bus will still be running should you choose to attend CTC.

 

There will be Lake City Trojan buttons for sale at tonight’s game for $1.00.

 

Freshmen – float tear down will be Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at Ardis’.  Please be there to help!  Also, remember to pay your $5.00 class dues.

The annual MY LEAD conference is starting to accept nominations for current 10th grade students

to attend the MY LEAD conference in the spring.  It is a great leadership opportunity.  If you want to hear about what a great experience it is, talk to Nick Trolz or Melanie Henneman.  See

Mrs. Richardson if you are interested.  The cost of up to two students can be covered and up

to four may attend.

 

On Thursday, October 15 from 6:30–8:00 p.m. the Cadillac high school will be hosting College Night in the axillary gym.  There will be over 40 college/university representatives, along with technical/trade schools, and all branches of the military.

Seniors – remember to stop in the library during lunch today to place your Josten’s order. 

 

Remember to get your spirit point today between noon and 12:10. Wear your school colors to show your school spirit.

 

The student council would like to thank everyone who attended and took part in last night’s bonfire. In case you missed it, the freshmen won the egg toss, the sophomores won the sack race and tug of war, and the seniors won musical chairs.

 

If you haven’t voted for homecoming king and queen, you have until 3:30 p.m. today.

 

Mrs. Thom will have tutoring this Friday from 3:20-4:00 p.m. after school.
