Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Garrett Wilson. 

 

Seniors – you need to come up with the class song, class motto, and class flower.  Remember that you need to turn in the lyrics of your song with the song you nominate for class song.  Please put your suggestions on the sign up outside Ms. Morse’s room.   Suggestions are due by Friday, November 2.

 There will be no school for student this Thursday, November 1.  There will be a half-day of school for students Wednesday, November 14, with no afternoon CTC. 

 North Star Driving School Segment 1 classes are scheduled to begin Monday, November 5.  Registration forms are located in the wall pocket outside of the office.

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

General tutoring will be held every Wednesday from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. in room 13.

 

Seniors – scholarship information has been updated on the website.  There are a couple of local   scholarships (for LCHS students only) so be sure to check them out!

 

Kirtland Community College will be here on Wednesday, October 3. You may sign up in the office during lunch or before or after school. 

 

Volunteers are needed to work at the Eastern Star Hunter’s Supper Thursday, November 15, from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. (you can work just part of the time) at the Masonic Temple in Lake City.  This is another great volunteering opportunity in your community and for NHS service hours.  Sign up in

Mrs. Richardson’s office.  

 

ATHLETICS

 

Senior Athletes – applications are available for the MHSAA-Farm Bureau Scholar Athlete Award.   Lake City may submit applications for three boys and three girls.  See Ms. Gilson for eligibility requirements and an application.  Deadline for application is Wednesday, November 19.

 

  The winter sports season is just around the corner.  Girls basketball begins Monday, November 5. Boys basketball and wrestling will begin Monday, November 12.  You must have a current physical on file before the first practice, or you may not participate.  Questions? See Ms. Gilson.

 

Basketball cheer team tryouts will be held in the cafeteria Tuesday through Thursday, November 6 to 8, from 4-5:30 pm.  You MUST have a physical on file in the high school athletic office in order to try-out.  Be dressed for practice. Any questions, please call Mrs. Vokes at the middle school office.

 

There will be a mandatory meeting for all boys interested in playing basketball on Wednesday, October 31 at 12:15 p.m. in the auditorium.  If you know you will not be here that day, see Ms. Gilson to get your name on the sign-up list.
