STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Snowcoming dance is Saturday, February 27, from 8-11:15 p.m.  Cost is $5 per person and it is semi-formal.  Guest forms may be picked up in the office before school, after school, or during lunch.

 

Any semester 1 and/or Quarter 2 honor roll student that has not picked up a trip form from

Mrs. Peterson, please do so asap.  Forms are due to Mrs. Peterson by Friday.  The trip date will be changing due to a conflict with band festival.  The new date will be announced as soon as possible.

 

Parent/Teacher conferences are after school today from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the classrooms.

 

If you would like to donate bottled water to the Flint residents, please drop the water off to

Mrs. Vokes by Friday.

 

Seniors - if you still have money from our snack fundraiser, please return to Mrs. Clous ASAP.  If you have any items that you can’t sell, bring those in and we will get them sold.

 

Juniors interested in helping with the Bro’ Volleyball tournament, please grab your lunch and come down to Mrs. Phil’s room for a lunch meeting today, Thursday and Friday.  If you are unable to attend, please let us know if you can help.  We need ticket takers, bake sale items and sellers, coaches, concession stand workers, etc. 

 

Seniors – pictures for the 2016 graduate composite will be taken Monday, February 22 from 7:45 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Please have your hair and make-up done and be ready for your picture that morning.  Pictures will be taken in groups of 5-6 students at a time.  Stay in class until the photographer’s assistant calls you.  Seniors attending morning CTC are to report to the auditorium before leaving for CTC or immediately upon returning. 

 

This is the last chance to purchase the 2016 yearbook; the deadline is March 4.  The cost is $40 payable to LC Yearbook.  The books will arrive in May.  We will not order any additional books, so order yours today.  See Mrs. Atkins for any questions.

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER                                                                                                                

 

Seniors - there will be a Mechatronics Information Session for prospective students on Monday, February 22 at CTC.  This is part of the MAT Squared program that offers free tuition and guaranteed employment at a local manufacturer.  The sessions are from 10–11 or 12:30–1:30.  Prospective students and parents are welcome to check out this opportunity.

 

Any junior or senior who is interested in taking the ASVAB test, please pick up a registration form from Mrs. Richardson.  It will be given at CTC on Wednesday, February 24.  You will ride the CTC bus over and back that day.  In addition to testing military aptitude, this test also acts as a career exploration tool for all students.

 

ATHLETICS

 

There will be a meeting for students trying out for the golf team tomorrow in the auditorium at 12:15.

If you are interested in registering for the Evart, Pine River, or Northern Michigan 3 on 3 basketball tournaments, information is available in the office.

 

Support the Lake City Booster’s Club by eating with the teams Friday, February 19 from 5-6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.  Cost is $5 each or $20 per family.  All proceeds benefit the Lake City Athletic Boosters.
