Attention students – The “Mock Rock” is coming February 7th.  If you would like to participate, sign up with Mrs. Richardson by next Wednesday, January 28th.

 

Seniors – Mr. Bongard needs money for your hoodies and t-shirts by January 30.  YOU HAVE TO PAY IN ADVANCE IN ORDER TO GET A HOODIE OR T-SHIRT.  All seniors need to stop in Mr. Bongard's room next week to sign the signature 09 that is going on the apparel.

Students who need to request a schedule change must write that request on their printed schedule and place it in the box located on the counter in the high school office.  Students must attend scheduled classes until Mrs. Richardson makes the switch.

 

10th and 11th grade girls!  There is going to be a Seminar called Careers for Women held at CTC on Wednesday, Feb 4th all day.  Lunch will be provided.  This will provide high school girls an opportunity to explore exciting non-traditional careers for women such as: Meteorologist, Veterinarian, Conservation Officer, Information Tech, State Police Trooper and more.  If you are interested and will COMMIT to going for the day, sign up in Mrs. Richardson’s office by January 28th.  Space is limited.

Mobile Dentist will be here February 23, 24, & 25.  Mobile dentist gives cleanings, takes x-rays, places sealants, and gives check-ups.  Medicaid, MI Child and most private insurances are accepted.  Pick a form up in the office and return by Monday, January 26.  See Mrs. Holly in the elementary if you have questions.

NHS members -- All your service hours need to be turned in to Ms. Bernier by 8:15 A.M. Tuesday morning.  New members must have 8, elder members must have 15.  Remember that for each additional meeting missed after the first, you must do an additional hour of community service.

The Youth Exchange and Study Abroad program can provide full scholarships for American teens to live and study in a YES partner country for one year.  If you are between 15-18 and have a minimum of 3.0 GPA and are interested in studying and living in another country, visit www.yesprograms.org.  Applications for full scholarships are due by February 2nd, 2009 (select PAX when filling out the app).

1.  Students interested in exempting from a 1st semester exam must submit a completed application to the office no later than 3:30 p.m. today.  Applications are located in the high school wall pocket outside the office doors.

2.  All activities forms need to be turned in by the end of the day today, even if you are planning on going home.

3.  Attention Seniors – There is a senior class meeting today at 11:30 in the auditorium.  Bring something to write with.  AM CTC students come to the meeting when you get back, PM CTC when you finish lunch.

4.  The Christian Reformed Church is sponsoring a blood drive today after school until 5:45pm.  You must be 17 and weigh at least 110 lbs to donate.

JUNIORS – The Discover Scholarship Program awards diverse high school juniors on their exemplary achievements in Leadership and Community Service while overcoming obstacles.  Applications for the scholarship program are available at www.discoverfinancial.com/community.  The application deadline is January 31, 2009.

 

Volunteer Tutoring Position available – We are looking for someone who would want to tutor elementary students at Larsen’s Early Learning Center, 1 or 2 days per week, for one hour after school.  If you are interested, please see Mrs. Richardson.  This is a great opportunity for volunteering time to add to applications, resume’s, etc.  This will count toward NHS volunteer hours.

 

Seniors – all local scholarship applications, that don’t have a due date and place to mail it listed, are due to me by the end of the day next Friday, 1/16.  If you are asking teachers for letters of recommendation, please give them plenty of notice.  Next week is exam week and everyone is busy.  If you weren’t able to make it to Financial Aid Night and want the information, stop in my office.  Mrs. Richardson

 

The Youth Exchange and Study Abroad program can provide full scholarships for American teens to live and study in a YES partner country for one year.  If you are between 15-18 and have a minimum of 3.0 GPA and are interested in studying and living in another country, visit www.yesprograms.org.  Applications for full scholarships are due by February 2nd, 2009 (select PAX when filling out the app).

GENERAL

Anyone interested in being a Camp Rotary Counselor needs to sign up in the office and pick up a packet.

 

Attention Seniors – You have a meeting in Mr. Bongard's room at 11:55 today for a short meeting about graduation stuff.  Please be prompt so we can get you to lunch.

 

There is a Varsity Club meeting today at 3:00pm in the auditorium. 

 

Students interested in exempting from a 1st semester exam must submit a completed application to the office no later than 3:30 p.m. on Friday, January 9.  Applications are located in the high school wall pocket outside the office doors.

 

Attention Student Council.  There will be an important meeting tomorrow morning, 1/7, at 7:40 am.  Please be there as we will be working on Activities Day and Chill Out Week.
