SENIORS - we will take a senior class photo on Friday, May 7 at 3:05 p.m. (right after the CTC bus returns).  If the weather is nice we will take the picture if front of the school, if not – meet in the gym.

 

Congratulations to Troy Hutchinson for placing 7th at the CTC Heavy Equipment Skills competition.

DUAL ENROLLMENT – any tenth or eleventh grader interested in dual enrollment for next year must see Mrs. Richardson ASAP.

JUNIORS – we need white Christmas lights for prom decorations.  Please get them to Mrs. Phillips or Ms. Bernier today.  Decorating will begin after school today at Fox Hill from 4:30 until done.  If we aren’t finished tonight, we will finish Saturday morning.  Please arrange for rides.

The varsity baseball/softball games schedule for today have been cancelled.  There will be practice for all baseball and softball teams right after school today.

 

There will be boys track practice for 9th and 10th grade only today.

 

There will be a volleyball sign up and information meeting today for girls interested in the volleyball program for fall 2010.  We will meet in the library at 3:00 p.m.

Congratulations to the following students for being inducted into the National Technical Honor Society:  Tabitha Hollars, Chelsea Lewis, Shawn Leeuw, Bobby Yeley, and Dillon Scarbrough.

 

Congratulations to the following students on their placement at the Health Occupation Students of America Leadership Competition:  Cody Campbell and Fred West – 3rd place, Alex Helsel – dental spelling/top eight, Chelsea Carl – regional qualifier for medical assisting, and Kala Bongard – regional qualifier for researched persuasive speaking.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL: students are not to be in the parking lot at any time during the school day – for any reason – without permission.

 

VARSITY CLUB – there will be a meeting at noon in the auditorium on Monday, April 19.

 

Congratulations to the forensics team – every competitor placed at regionals and will advance to the state competition on April 30 and May 1 at CMU.

 

Alec Ash’s burial will take place Saturday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lake City cemetery north of town on M-66.  Alec will be buried on the east side of the cemetery.

 

Weatherspotter training is scheduled for Monday, April 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Missaukee EMS building.  If you are interested contact the Missaukee Emergency Management office at 839-7839.

This Wednesday (4/14/10), The Lake City Forensics Team competed in the Regional tournament at Grayling High School.  Every Lake City competitor placed and will be advancing to the State Meet on April 30 and May 1 at Central Michigan University.  Congratulations to the ENTIRE team!

Prom tickets will be on sale all this week.  The deadline is April 16 because we have to turn in a head count to Fox Hill.  If this is a problem see Ms. Bernier or Mrs. Phillips.  Again, the price is $25 which includes a photo package.

 

Results of the Mr. Lake City Pageant:  Alex Langmesser was crowned Mr. Lake City, Tyler Murray was Runner Up, and Swim Suit went to Kasey Getty.  Thank you to all who participated.

Take driver education in a convertible with Mr. Yeomans at Baker College.  Class begins April 26.  Sign up forms are located in the wall pocket outside the office or see Mr. Yeomans at lunch.

 

Alec Ash’s burial will take place on Saturday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the cemetery north of Lake City on M-66 – the east side of the road.

FRESHMEN – your pizza orders are coming in today.  All orders must be picked up by 3:00 p.m.  You will not be able to take them on the bus and you will not be able to leave them at school over the weekend.

The last day to buy a yearbook for $35 is TOMORROW!  Get your deposit to Mrs. Atkins or another yearbook student.  After tomorrow, the price will increase to $45.  If you fail to order a book this spring, the cost will be $50 in the fall.

SOPHOMORES – don’t forget about finding drivers for our can/bottle drive!!  Please let Mrs. Peterson or Mrs. Atkins know ASAP if you find someone to drive.  Remember the more people that help, the more money we earn.

 

Senior Oscar Night is scheduled for April 30.  Any junior interested in being a presenter must sign up in the office.  Any high school student interested in performing during the program must sign up in the office.  Auditions will be scheduled – you will be notified of the date.

 

FRESHMEN CLASS OFFICERS – you have a meeting during lunch TODAY in room 20.

 

FRESHMEN – your pizza orders are coming in this Friday afternoon.  All orders must be picked up by 3:00 p.m.  You will not be able to take them on the bus and you will not be able to leave them at school over the weekend.   Pizza sellers – thanks for all the work on this fundraiser.

 

SOPHOMORE/JUNIORS – there will be a meeting on Tuesday, April 13 at 9:30 a.m. in the auditorium if you are interested in dual enrollment classes for the 2010-11 school year.  We will discuss how to qualify, the types of courses, and student responsibilities for taking courses.  If you are interested, sign up in the office.

If you plan to take a guest to prom who is not a LCHS student, you must register that person with the high school office.  Your guest must be under the age of 21 and approved by the principal.
