GENERAL

Sophomores:  We need ticket takers for two more Fridays.  We are all set for tonight, but if you can help out October 17 or 24, please sign up in Ms. Bernier's room.  Tonight's ticket taker needs to be at the football field at 4:45 for an early game night.

 

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

The following college representatives are scheduled to visit LCHS:  Northwestern – October 10, Northwood University and Grand Valley – October 14, Western University – October 15, and Saginaw Valley, Lake Superior State, and Alma – October 16.  Any student interested in meeting with a rep must sign up in the office.

 

Cadillac High School will be hosting their annual College Night Program on Wednesday, October 15th starting at 6:30pm in the auxiliary gymnasium.  All Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to attend.

 

Attention GoTo Team – You will have a meeting today, Friday, 10/10 during 3rd hour, in the library. Check in with your teacher first and then head to the library.  See Mrs. Richardson with any questions.

GENERAL

Seniors – you have until tomorrow to finish up your pizza kit orders.  Let's get on it.

 

Attention Seniors – Tomorrow, October 10 is Senior Day.  It will begin at 8:00am and go until everyone is done.  Jostens will be here to take orders for announcements and other misc graduation souvenirs.  Mrs. Hose will have a form for you to fill out.  Lifetouch will be here to take your picture “Quick Shot” for the composite picture that will hang in the hall.  Please dress in your Sunday best.  All seniors will have their picture taken, but will also have the opportunity to turn in a wallet size head and shoulder shot senior picture.  The composite picture can also be used for the yearbook.  Both pictures (composite and yearbook) need to be turned in before Christmas break.  Please see Mrs. Atkins if you will have trouble making the yearbook deadline.

Red Pride Fridays are back.  Dress up in your red and black on the next three Fridays to support the football team.  Dressing up will earn you and your class spirit points.  To earn your spirit points, check in at lunch.  To get your spirit points, you must be at least 50% red.

The Homecoming Dance is tomorrow!  If your date does not attend our high school and you have not signed them up to be approved by the principal, they will not be allowed to attend the dance.

GENERAL

1.  Homecoming is this week!  If the date you plan to bring to the dance does not attend our high school you must sign them up in the office to be approved by the principal.

2.  Spirit Week is as follows:  Thursday, Celebrity Look Alike Day; Friday, Red, White and Black Day.

3.  The Bon Fire is tonight at 7:00pm behind the school.

The yearbook class is looking for summertime pictures.  The pictures can be on disk or already printed.  We will give the pictures back to you as soon as we have saved them to our site.  If you have any pictures that we could use, we would greatly appreciate it.  Please give them to Mrs. Atkins. 

4.  All students – if you are interested in participating in games during the Homecoming Pep Assembly on Friday, please sign up in the office.

5.  NHSers:  There will be a short meeting tomorrow, Thursday at 7:47am.  Breakfast will be provided.

6.  Varsity Club applications are now being taken.  Please pick up an application and return it to Miss Gilson by Friday, 9/26.  Thank you.  Mr. Joe

7.  Attention Sophomores – Jostens will be here on Tuesday, 9/30 during lunch in the lobby to take class ring orders.  Remember to bring your $50 deposit.

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

1.  Sophomores and Juniors – The PSAT will be given here at school on the morning of Wednesday, October 15th.  This is a practice SAT test and also the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship if you take it as a Junior.  The cost to take the test is $13.  This needs to be paid to the office by the day of the test.  Make checks payable to Lake City High School.  There is a sign-up sheet in the office and you need to sign up by October 1st.  See Mrs. Richardson if you have any questions. 

2.  The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation awards more than 4000 scholarships each year.  Seniors – to apply for scholarships go to www.coca-colascholars.org by October 31st!

3.  The GoTo Team’s “Challenge of the Week” is “Sit with someone new at lunch”.

4.  After school tutoring will start next Tuesday, September 30th, from 3:30 to 4:30 in Room #11.  NHS students will be available to help w/ school work or just use it as a time to get caught up and get things done.  See Mrs. Richardson if you have any questions.
