If you are planning on attending after-prom, please pick up a contract as soon as possible from

Erin Swanson, Jessica Miller or Mrs. Peterson.  The cost is $10 and may be paid when you pick up or drop off your contract. After-prom will be at the high school and there are lots of fun activities planned. There will be an inflatable obstacle course, bungee run, and jousting ring as well as sumo wrestling, Wii Guitar Hero and Just Dance and Minute to Win It competitions and more surprises. Everyone will go home with a t-shirt and prizes. The last day to sign up is Wednesday, April 13.  All money and contracts are due back no later than Friday, April 15. No contracts will be accepted the day of prom.

Saturday, April 9, the Missaukee County Library is hosting a book-signing for Katherine Phillips, Lake City's local high school author.  Come show your support and snag a signed copy!  Each book will be $10.00.  Hope to see you there!

Challenge Day is here!  The high school dates are tomorrow and Wednesday.  The lists of the participants and days will be posted by lunch.  You need to make sure you are on time for the day you are participating and need to be there the whole day.  If there is a big conflict with the day you

are scheduled for, see Mrs. Richardson a.s.a.p.  If you want to participate and are not on the list, see Mrs. Richardson right away!  This is going to be an amazing experience!

 

ATHLETICS

 

SPRING ATHLETES:  track will practice from 3:30-5:00 p.m. today.  Softball will practice from 5-6:30.

JV baseball will practice from 5-6:30 at the middle school, and varsity baseball will practice

from 6:30-8:00 at the middle school.

107.9 CDY in Cadillac is sponsoring Gown Town 2011.  They are taking donated prom dresses from all over the area and giving them away for FREE at Cadillac Junior High School on Saturday, April 2, beginning at 3:00 p.m.  If you need a dress, be sure to attend the event.

Boys and girls track practice has been change to 4:30-6:00 p.m. today.  Meet in the back hallway.

The Second Annual Mr. Lake City Contest will take place this Friday, March 18th in the high school gym at 7:00 p.m. Contestants will compete in talent, swim trunk, and best dressed competitions. The winner will be crowned Mr. Lake City of 2011! Admission will be $4.00 per person, $12.00 per family of four. Concessions will be available and there will be an auction for a prime parking space at the athletic complex and two family athletic passes. Hope to see you there!

The first day of spring sports practice is Monday, March 14.

The practice schedule for Monday is:

 

Track                                      3:30-5:00 p.m.           Meet in the gym

Softball                                   5-7:00 p.m.                Meet in the gym

Golf                                        3:30-5:00 p.m.           Meet in room 26 (Mr. Bongard)

Baseball (9th/10th grade)          3:30-5:00 p.m.           Meet in the middle school gym    

Baseball (11th/12th grade)          4-6:30 p.m.                Meet in the middle school gym

 

Remember – you must have a physical card on file in the athletic office before you can practice.

COUNSELOR'S CORNER

 

Mid Michigan Community College will be hosting a College Day on Friday, April 15, 2011 from

9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Harrison Campus.  This is open to all 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students and parents.  This is a free event for students to learn more about various colleges, universities, and military agencies.    For more information, visit www.midmich.edu/collegeday.

Student Council will have a meeting today at lunch in Mrs. Vanderbrook's room.

The radio station 107.9 CDY in Cadillac is sponsoring Gown Town 2011.  They are taking donated prom dresses from all over the area and giving them away for FREE at Cadillac Junior High School on Saturday, April 2, beginning at 3:00 pm.  If you have a prom dress you would like to donate, there is a rack outside of Mrs. Richardson's office where they will be collected.  If you need a dress, be sure to attend this event.  There will be other vendors there as well offering accessories, fundraisers, and other items.

 

Math tutoring today will be with Mr. Bongard.
