Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Andrew Fechter.

 

Exam exemption applications must be turned in to the office no later than 3:30 p.m. today.

 

We have scheduled a locker clean out for Monday, June 3 during 2nd hour.  The schedule is as follows:  9th grade from 9:15-9:25 a.m., 10th grade from 9:25-9:35, and 11th grade from 9:35-9:45.

 

Baker college is offering driver education classes in their Mustang, Camaro and Firebird starting June 10. Pick up a schedule outside the high school office or see Mr. Yeomans at lunch.

ATHLETICS

 

Good Luck to:  Ryan Vincent, Jeramie Lyle, Tom Platt, Storm Francisco, Ola Aamodt, Dan Cuevas,

Kory Root, Makayla Schichtel, and Sophie Booms.   They will compete at the track state finals on Saturday.

 

There will be a meeting for JV boys basketball players on Monday, June 3 at 12:15 in the auditorium.  Please be prompt.  If you are unable to make it, see Ms. Gilson.

 

There will be a meeting for all varsity boys basketball players planning on attending the Ferris team camp on Tuesday, June 4 at 7:30 a.m. in the auditorium.  Please be prompt.  If you are not able to make it, let Ms. Gilson know.

You did a great job last week raising money for the Relay for Life.  We have raised just shy of $400 so far!  Let’s keep it up and see if we can double the amount raised this week for the event on Friday.  The classrooms with the top donations so far are – 1-Mrs. Atkins, 2-Mr. Thom, 3-Mrs. Clous,

4-Ms. Bernier.  We have a classroom that has raised well over $100 and classrooms that haven’t raised any.  Let’s keep going and see how much we will be able to donate!  Way to go!

Mr. Webb’s room.  Auditions start on Tuesday, May 28 and run through Friday, May 31.  There are two audition spots available during lunch and four spots available after school.  Please come fully prepared, your audition will be videotaped!

The high school is joining the elementary and the middle schools this year in raising money for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.  Almost every one of us has been affected by cancer in some way.  This is a great opportunity for our school to donate to an organization that works towards a cure, and provides support for loved ones who have in the past or are currently dealing with cancer.  Please bring in extra change or any type of monetary donation through Wednesday,

May 29.  We will have a 1st hour class challenge!  The high school 1st hour classroom that raises the most money will get a morning juice and doughnut treat on Friday, May 31!  Please be a part of the Lake City Area Schools donation to this event.

Lake City Middle School Bulletin for Tuesday, May 21, 2013

WEXFORD-MISSAUKEE CAREER TECHNICAL CENTER – The CTC will host a wide variety of summer camps for middle school students, June 17-19. The camps include culinary, floral design, and welding/metal fabrication. Information and registration forms are available in the middle school office.


The library will be closing on Friday, May 31st. All books will be due back to the library Wednesday, May 29th.


Summer Camps! Boys basketball camp! Boys in the 6th and 7th grade this year can sign up for basketball summer skills camp. Forms are available in the office. Registration deadline is May 24. Football Camp! Open for all players entering 7th and 8th grades next year, football camp is July 15-17. Registration forms are in the office and due by July 1. Girls basketball and Volleyball Skills Camp! Registration forms are in the office for volleyball and basketball skills camps – open to all ages. Registration deadline is May 30.

The Lake City Federation of Teachers is offering a scholarship to Lake City graduates who have been accepted into the education department of an approved university.  Scholarship applications are available from Mrs. Richardson and are due by Aug. 1, 2013.  Seniors, if you are going into education keep this in mind when you enter the program.

The Lake City Federation of Teachers is offering a scholarship to Lake City graduates who have been accepted into the education department of an approved university.  Scholarship applications are available from Mrs. Richardson and are due by Aug. 1, 2013.  Seniors, if you are going into education keep this in mind when you enter the program.

NHS seniors - you need to have your service hours for this semester completed and turned in by 8:15 a.m. Monday, May 13. See Ms. Bernier if you have any questions.

Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Kelly North.

 

JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS – a reminder that you are scheduled to meet with the Jostens

representative in the auditorium tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m.  It is important that you be on time.

 

JUNIOR CLASS – there will be a short meeting 1st hour tomorrow in the auditorium immediately

after attendance is taken.  This will be a short 15-20 minute meeting with the Jostens rep.

Congratulations to Ethan Wagner for a repeat first place finish in the Motorcycle Service Technology category through CTC at the Skills USA state competition in Grand Rapids and Hayden “Storm” Francisco for earning third place in the Power Equipment division.
