Good morning students and welcome back!

 

The homecoming powder puff football game will be Monday, September 19.  If you are interested in playing or coaching, sign up in the office, or outside of Mrs. Clous’ room, by Tuesday, September 6.  We need more junior and senior ladies signed up or we will not be able to play the game!  The game will be underclassmen vs. upperclassmen and the winning team will earn spirit points!

 

 

We will be voting for Homecoming representatives next week beginning with the freshmen on Tuesday during 4th hour. Good luck to all!

 

Freshmen interested in running for Student Council should pick up a form from Mr. Thom in room 18.

 

Students who drive to school must park in the east parking lot behind the science wing.

It is very important that all items in lockers, and on top of lockers, are taken home today.  Lockers will be dismantled starting today.

Schedules for next fall will be available to view on PowerSchool the middle of August.  You will also be getting a copy in the mail, along with a letter about times and procedures for schedule changes and important beginning of the year information.  If you are interested in changing your schedule, you can go in and change your schedule requests until the end of the day Friday.  New classes being offered might be:  Botany, Creative Writing, Engineering and Manufacturing, Photojournalism, possibly Vocal/Choir, and remember we will be offering French.

 

Job opportunities – Ebel’s is looking for workers and several families are looking for summer day care.  You would need transportation to get to the jobs.  If you are interested, see Mrs. Richardson

 

If you end up not passing a class this semester and want to do summer credit recovery, see Mrs. Richardson by 11:45 today to sign up.

 

A parent of middle school girl is looking for some volunteer tutoring in Math over the summer.  If you are looking to volunteer, this is a great opportunity.  See Mrs. Richardson if you are interested.

There is a community pig roast presented by Lake City Area Schools and Ebel’s General Store today from 4-7 p.m. in the Lake City High School back parking lot.   A free will offering will be accepted toward the meal.  Donations will be accepted and will go towards the new Community Center.

 

The last day of school is tomorrow with dismissal at 11:40.  The gym will be closed in the afternoon.

 

There will be a short AP Chemistry meeting at the beginning of this AI.  If you can’t make it see

Mrs. Vanderbrook before the end of the year.

If you are looking for some part time summer work, people are looking for students to babysit, do yard work, and mow lawns.  See Mrs. Richardson ASAP if you are looking to make some extra money and have a way to get there.

 

There will be a bus going to Ferris State University on Wednesday, for 10th and 11th graders interested in attending the visit.  You must sign up in the office today and permission slips must be in tomorrow!  You also need to provide your e-mail, then a link will be sent to you to register with Ferris online.  This must be done by the end of the day on Tuesday.  If you signed up and did not provide your e-mail, please put it on the sign-up sheet asap and make sure that you do the online registration.

 

If you are a female going into 9th – 11th grade, and interested in Engineering, Wolverine Cooperative was awarded a full scholarship to give away to a student who wants to attend Michigan Technological University’s summer “Women in Engineering” camp that takes place the 3rd week in June.  To apply for the camp and to be able to attend all expenses paid, see Mrs. Richardson ASAP.

Lake City Equestrian team sign-ups will be May 23-27th.  The senior team consists of anyone who is currently in 9th through 11th grade.  The first meeting will be Saturday, May 28th.  There is a sign- up sheet in the office along with an information sheet in joining the team.

Seniors – tonight is senior awards starting at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Dress nicely and be on time. 

 

Seniors attending senior trip – go to your last meeting before the trip during AI today.  Report to AI for attendance then head to Mr. Bongard’s room.  If you attend PM CTC, see Mrs. Clous when you return in the afternoon.

 

Seniors – please be on time for your mandatory graduation practices on Thursday and Friday,

May 26 and 27 at 9:00 a.m.

All Dual Enrollment and Independent Study students – you need to get Mrs. Richardson a copy of your final grade, when you complete your course, in order to get the credit.  Print it and turn it in to her, or leave it in the office if she isn’t available.

 

Sophomores attending CTC next year in Metal Fabrication, Hospitality, Business, Public Safety, or Computers - if you are interested in the Early College Program, you need to have your paperwork in to Mrs. Richardson by this Friday.

 

Seniors – you will need to have a copy of your final transcripts sent to your college.  You can request those through Parchment.com.  If you haven’t yet, go on and set up an account.  Then you will be able to request what you need.  Be sure to request them to be sent at the end of the school year.  Final transcripts will be available at the end of June.
