STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Hannah Burkholder.



Freshmen class officers – there is a meeting today during lunch in Mrs. Thom's room.



English tutoring is scheduled after school today in Mrs. Phillips' room until 4 p.m.



Science tutoring is scheduled for tomorrow after school in Mrs. Thom's and Mrs. VanderBrook's rooms.



Due to parent/teacher conferences, math tutoring is scheduled for Thursday, October 17 in

Mr. Bongard's room from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.



Seniors - Friday is your deadline for class song, flower, and motto. Mr. Bongard has several song choices, but no motto or flower choices. We will have a meeting on Friday to vote. If you have any preferences, or an opinion, please stop and share them with him. Thank you.



Sophomores - we are selling 50/50 tickets during next Tuesday's volleyball game and next Friday's football game. If you are interested in selling tickets, see Mrs. Clous or one of your class officers.



Courtesy Driving School will offer the following driver education classes at Lake City High School:

Segment I starting November 4, and Segment II starting November 25. To register call 800-256-9559. You may also obtain additional information by visiting courtesydrivingschool.com.



COUNSELOR'S CORNER



The first local scholarship for seniors is out. The Masons offer two scholarships just to Lake City seniors – the Beacon Scholarship and the Floyd Helsel Memorial Scholarship. See Mrs. Richardson for an application. Applications are due Friday, November 22.



Ferris State University will be here Wednesday, October 16. Sign up in the office to see them before school, after school, or during lunch.



ATHLETICS



Varsity cross country Highland Jamboree @ Beal City, dismissal time 2:00 p.m., bus departs at

2:15 p.m., meet starts at 4:30 p.m.



Varsity volleyball @ Marion, bus departs at 4:45 p.m., match starts at 6:00 p.m.



We will take orders for football playoff shirts this week only. Pick up your order form from the athletic

wall pocket. ALL ORDERS, with payment, must be in to Ms. Gilson by 3:30 p.m. on Friday,

October 18.



SENIOR ATHLETES – applications are available for the MHSAA/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete Award. You must have a gpa of 3.5 and must have earned your varsity letter. See Ms. Gilson for an application. All applications are due by Friday, November 22.
