GENERAL

The annual canned food drive has begun.  The class that wins receives spirit points.  Please bring your canned goods to the following locations

NHSers -- Remember that raking will be this Sunday at 2 (weather permitting) across from Tasty Treat.  Meet at the school with your rakes.

 

Any NHSers interested in tutoring lower elementary students after school at Larsen's?  See Mrs. Richardson ASAP.

 

The drama class will be presenting "Airline" Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22 at the LCHS auditorium. Tickets are $5 at the door. Doors open at 7:30 and the show begins at 8:00. Come out and support the LCHS drama program.

 

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

“Challenge of the Week” is “Try to cheer up someone who seems to be feeling down.”

 

In support of Anti-bullying week which is November 17 – 21, we will have “Hats On Day” on Wednesday, November 19^th.  You can wear a hat for the day if you pay $1 in support of anti-bullying.  You will receive a “No Bullying” sticker that you must wear on you somewhere, in order to wear a hat for the day.  The funds will go to the Go To Team fund for future activities.  Please show your support and stand up to bullying for a safe and caring school environment.  There will be a table in the lobby in the morning to pay your $1 and receive a sticker.

 

A Ferris State University representative will be here Monday, November 17 – sign up in the office if interested in meeting with this rep.

 

A Northern Michigan University representative will be here Tuesday, November 18 – sign up in the office if interested in meeting with this rep.

 

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Michigan is funding two $500 scholarships in the state for students pursuing further education in the Arts and Nursing.  See Mrs. Richardson for an application.  Applications are due by November 28^th to the scholarship chairman.

 

The local Masonic Lodge is offering 2 scholarships of at least $500 to Lake City seniors.  The Beacon Scholarship and The Floyd Helsel Memorial Scholarship.  See Mrs. Richardson for applications.  They are due to Mrs. Richardson by December 10^th.

 

 

SPORTS

Classis Chevrolet and Classic Ford would like to welcome anyone who would like to participate in a tailgate party on October 24, 2008 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm for the Lake City vs Pine River football game.  The tailgate party will be held at the Lake City Football field and sponsored by the Lake City Athletics Boosters and Classic Chevrolet and Classic Ford.  Hot dogs, pop, and chips will be provided to those who attend.  Let’s get behind our team and show our support for our School.
