Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Corrina Cebulski.

 

Student council members – this is the last day to pay for your shirt!

 

Juniors selling snack boxes for the senior trip – it is important that you meet with Mrs. Colecchio today at 12:15 in Mr. Prelipp’s room. It should only take five minutes.  The names of the students who need to come are posted in the hallway.

 

Freshmen – Yankee Candle orders are due today. Please turn in your order form and payment to Mrs. Phillips, Ms. Bernier or Mrs. Thom.  If you forgot to bring it in today, please be sure to bring it in tomorrow, as orders will be placed at the end of the day on Thursday.

 

Science tutoring has been cancelled for today.  Math tutoring is scheduled for tomorrow in

Mrs. VanderBrook’s room.

The annual MY LEAD (Michigan Youth Leadership) conference will be holding two sessions for high school sophomores at the end of this school year.  There is one in May and one in June.  

The deadline to register is the end of December.  If you are in 10th grade and interested in attending this life-changing opportunity, see Mrs. Richardson.

 

Michigan Tech University will be here tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. in the library.  Sign up in the office before school, after school, or during lunch.

ATHLETICS

 

JV and varsity volleyball players are to meet coach in the library immediately after school today. 

This will take two minutes – so you will not miss your bus.

 

Cheer tryouts have been cancelled for tonight only.  If you are interested in going out for winter cheer, you must be at practice on Thursday (tomorrow) from 4-5:30 p.m. in the band room.  Even if

Courtesy Driving School will offer segment I driver training starting Monday, November 4.  Classes will run Monday-Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and finish on Thursday, November 21.  The complete cost is $254.  Segment II will run November 25, 26 and December 2 from 7-9 p.m. Information is located outside the high school office.

 

The Missaukee County Road Commission requests student and parent cooperation through the winter months while snowplowing is taking place.  Please be aware of the fact that the plows are on the roads many mornings at the same time buses are picking up students.  You are urged to make sure that students wait a safe distance from the plowed portion of the roadway until the bus actually arrives at their stop.  It is important that everyone works together to make certain of student safety.

The volleyball program would like to thank the sophomore class for donating half of their 50/50 raffle money to Dig Pink. 

 

SENIOR ATHLETES – applications are available for the MHSAA/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete Award.  Lake City can submit three girls and three boys.  You must have a gpa of 3.5 and must have earned your varsity letter.  See Ms. Gilson for an application.  All applications are due by Friday, November 22.

 

Football and Cheer athletes:  parents’ night is scheduled for this Friday.  You must register your parents by 3:30 p.m. today.  The registration form is on Ms Gilson’s door.

Congratulations to the Student of the Week – Hailey Pylkas.

 

Seniors – there is a class trip meeting in Mr. Bongard’s room today at lunch.

 

English/Spanish tutoring is scheduled today in Ms. Bernier's room after school until 4:00 p.m.

 

Science tutoring is scheduled in Mrs. Thom’s, Mrs. VanderBrook’s, and Mrs. Clous’ rooms tomorrow.

 

Math tutoring is scheduled for Thursday, October 24 in Mrs. Peterson’s room.

 

There is a prom committee meeting today at lunch in Mr. Prielipp’s room. 

 

Sophomores - we are selling Scrip gift cards again this year as our fundraiser.  If you are interested in selling please stop by Mrs. Clous’ room Thursday during lunch to pick up fundraising information.

 

Picture retakes are scheduled for the morning of Monday, October 28.  If you have any questions or need a form, please stop by the office.
